Heartbreaker in Richmond in League 1. Heartbreaker. We missed a field goal and gave up two touchdowns in the final two minutes to give away a key game. A win would have clinched the division, and the loss dropped us to second place. That hurt.

My defense owned Rain Man this year, that's all I have to say about Duluth. :D
Onto the game! Big Jim K with his first TD of the year. Quote:

Reggie Bush - 22 carries, 116 yards, 3 catches, 35 yards Ahmad Bradshaw - 8 carries, 17 yards, 1 catch, 11 yards Ricky Williams - 3 carries, 4 yards Tom Brady - 15 of 26 for 206 yards, 2 TD Interestingly enough, my WR were completely shut down, which hasn't happened this year I don't think. Tom did a nice job spreading the ball around. Roddy White - 1 catch, 12 yards Santonio Holmes - 3 catches, 21 yards Torrey Smith - 1 catch, 21 yards Kellen Winslow - 3 catches, 36 yards Brandon Banks - 1 catch, 33 yards, 1 TD Jim Kleinsasser - 2 catches, 37 yards, 1 TD SECRET WEAPON Only one sack and one turnover in this fairly defensive game. Interesting sim. Now I have to haul my broken team up to Anchorage for a game to decide the #1 seed. Interestingly enough, Ahmad Bradshaw is the biggest POS on my team in terms of statistical production, so Ricky Williams gets the start in Week 16 with Reggie Bush down. A fine season for sandbox Reggie with 270 carries, 1,576 yards and 11 TD. Added 27 catches for 264 yards and 5 TD. |
As a very minor point, it usually says, "Turned over on downs" in this situation. For some reason it didn't here.
Seattle 6, Anchorage 24 Seattle 4th Q 3:07 1st and 10 Seattle 6 Joe Flacco passes incomplete to Lance Moore. 4th Q 3:00 2nd and 10 Seattle 6 Joe Flacco passes incomplete to Eddie Royal. 4th Q 2:53 3rd and 10 Seattle 6 Joe Flacco passes complete to Steve Slaton for a gain of 10 yards. 4th Q 2:29 4th and inches Seattle 15 Joe Flacco passes incomplete to free agent. Seattle 6, Anchorage 24 Anchorage 4th Q 2:19 1st and 10 Seattle 15 Greg McElroy passes, batted at the line of scrimage incomplete. |
In League 2, Anchorage got a huge win behind our new QB Greg McElroy. We needed that win.

I'm not sure if I disagree, but it seems like we would've gone for the field goal in this situation.
St. Louis 3, Columbia 16 St. Louis 2nd Q 2:06 1st and 10 Columbia 31 Kyle Orton passes complete to Owen Marecic for a gain of 6 yards. Two minute warning. 2nd Q 1:58 2nd and 4 Columbia 24 Kyle Orton (pressured) passes incomplete to Maurice Jones-Drew. 2nd Q 1:50 3rd and 4 Columbia 24 Kyle Orton passes incomplete to Evan Moore. 2nd Q 1:43 4th and 4 Columbia 24 Kyle Orton (pressured) passes complete to Steve L. Smith for a gain of 2 yards. Turned over on downs St. Louis 3, Columbia 16 |
In League 2, Columbia came on with a huge defensive effort to stuff division-leading St. Louis and climb back into the race. St. Louis had a disappointing performance with a complete inability to run the ball against the stout Columbia defense, and suddenly finds themselves in peril for the playoffs.

This is a rare thing, but I think there has to be an offensive play here, right? Does the clock start if the returner catches the ball and kneels for a touchback? I don't think so, but I'm not sure.
Independence 0, Kansas City 10 Independence 2nd Q 0:05 Robbie Gould kicks 70 yards. No return. Touchback Independence 0, Kansas City 10 Independence 3rd Q 15:00 Robbie Gould kicks 70 yards. No return. Touchback 3rd Q 14:52 1st and 10 Independence 20 Shonn Greene rushes for 3 yards. |
Independence laid an egg in League 2, when a win would have been huge. No offense at all. This was a bad week for most of my teams. Ugh.

Individual defensive stats related to sacks and interceptions now availalbe. We'll get tackles up next year, along with some additional interesting defensive stats.

Richmond's MVP may be cornerback Curtis Brown, who has recorded 12 interceptions so far this season. It seemed like he was having a good year, but that's amazing.

****ing Rex Grossman!

Rain Man, how many points do I need to beat Anchorage by to win the division?

And Duluth is still the best team in the division. |
