Jones can suck a fat dick at this point

bring on roster cut fatties who would want to be on the team

tired of this mother ****er who is still under contract not honoring his previous agreement.

Why would we ever sign him to another 4 year deal when he won't honor it anyway

time to work on life after Jones IMO

I'm not sure KC's defense can be any worse than what they started off in 2021 with Jones playing outside rather than inside.

Jones is the one driving this truck off the cliff, not the Chiefs, and if there is no hope of an extension, then look out for the Chiefs interest should be the priority.

There’s a difference between his not reporting and his tag value getting knocked down AND his reporting but the Chiefs using quasi-loopholes in a punitive fashion to get his tag value down.

The latter can do actual reputational damage both inside and outside the locker room. Don’t think that’s the team’s MO when they’re in a clear championship window.

(Note: not chiming in on whether it’s deserved or not but rather how it may be perceived.)

Whatever. **** those teams they cut players on a whim all the time.

The Chiefs should do what is in their best interest and so should Jones.

Watching people take this personally is amazing.

Trading him just for picks is a bad idea. Have to get at least as return a starting calibre DT to feel the void. The best solution is to stand still and do nothing.
Have him give way and finally show up to practice and play out the season. Help win another SB, tag and trade his selfish a$$ in the offseason and draft your DT of the future. The best possible route to take.

CoMoChief 08-28-2023 03:24 PM

At the end of the day, we have a QB and an offense that can will its way to 35ppg if it needs to.

So I've stopped caring about Chris Jones at this point. He was great with KC, but we have the Michael Jordan of the sport. He's the only guy who's untradeable.

Trade him for draft picks....sign Bolton, Sneed, Creed, and Smith.

O.city 08-28-2023 03:26 PM

If I'm not gonna sign Jones (which is fine) I'm not gonna spend to sign an off ball LB'er or a slot CB.

The lack of understanding comes more into play if this drags past tomorrow.

But...I mean...the agent surely knows all this stuff right?

I’m pro labor as it comes.

But I DGAF about Chris Jones when he’s trying to sabotage a Super Bowl season for my favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

RunKC 08-28-2023 03:33 PM

They're gonna pay Bolton $18 million APY and this board will lose their minds

Well let’s also not ignore there are levels to this. He signed a 4 year deal that pays him $20 million this year and was one of the top paid defenders at the time. I can’t imagine that most of our defenders, who quite a lot are very lowly paid by comparison, are exactly having a lot of sympathy for Jones here.

And does anyone think he would be doing this if he didn’t have 15.5 sacks last season?

Nothing personal, all business. He isn't here to honor his previously agreed upon contract. Building your D around the hope that he shows up by week 8 and can lead us on a run is setting the team up for failure.

But that contract allows him to not show up for this part of the season. There are just penalties for doing so.

Eh, some people wanted to pay Jones 30 before and have now seen the light so who knows.
