i was just pointing out it was a different body style (hence DIFFERENT LOOKING) truck because that last line made it seem likehe may want it so you were telling him he couldnt have it.

Making it clear I was reminiscing about growing up with a make and model [which was the reason mac was looking for a replacement], not proposing a transaction.

THAT is what I was remarking on, not 'body types' and 'model years.'
And the 'better off asking for his kidney' was about the sentimental value we shared regarding an inanimate object.
