I was an Army officer active for four years, reserve for six....I understand and agree there are some--but, hell, as a teacher there are plenty in THIS profession. I was in sales for 15 months, and....sheeesh, talk about WIERDOs. Med Techs? Insurance folks? Every profession has a per centage of strange cats.

Would you like to hear about the Sgt who told me for 5 years about how he personally cut off Saddom's moustache in 1990, and had Arab Shieks offering him herds of camels to breed thier daughters, even though he's in a reserve Medic unit?
Maybe you'd like the Sgt I know, who has a vanity plate, allowing everyone to know that he is indeed a combat vet, when what he really did, was spend 2 weeks in the region taking pictures with a general?
Maybe You'd recall a guy like my brother's first NCO who TOLD them he was being a prick because this was "his chance to get even"........the guy, that during the first tour in iraq, was smoking guys after they came in from combat patrols.

Everyone here knows i have the greatest respect for military persons..............But there are some, that go out of their way, to test that. Just wait until you end up working with "the guy" I'm talking about, when he finally finishes those night classes and becomes your next principal.

Cops and teachers are BOTH professions I'd say have more than their share of the same personalities. Its about Dooshbags with a power trip.

But douchebags on a power trip populate many, many different professions....

Based on my experience, they're top heavy in the military and at the cop shop. I'm not saying a majority of the people in those professions are "that way", but there's a larger percentage in those fields. IMO.

OK, Phil. What did I do in the Navy? How long was I in the Navy? What is my current profession? What charitible organizations have I worked with? How much effort have I put into helping those that cannot help themselves? What do you know about me other than associated with this board and the foundation? Not a fkng thing.

I stayed in the Navy in a reserve capacity due to a desire to continue to serve my country. You claim that I had to stay as I couldn't get out of the box? What college did I attend? What was my gradepoint average? What is my degree in? Come on, you know about me. Spill!!!

I would like nothing more than to have each and every one of you working for me in any capacity. That might tell me alot about your character and abilities. I'd bet that over half of the naysayers here would be sent packing because they couldn't hack it. I'd bet there are many that couldn't handle bootcamp.

I would put my years of experience in the Navy up against anyone here. Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force, or the Coast Guard.

You can talk all you want, and try to insult my service. What matters in overall is what I actually accomplished. Not a one of you have a clue in that department and probably never will.

How many Sailors do you know of that have received a medal from the CNO? From the SECNAV? You don't get those by working for a general in Kuwait.
