2007 Elite 8 as a 1 seed
2006 1st Round as a 4 seed
2005 1st Round as a 3 seed
2004 Elite 8 as a 4 seed
2003 Championship as a 2 seed
2002 Final 4 as a 1 seed
2001 Sweet 16 as a 4 seed
2000 2nd Round as a 8 seed
1999 2nd Round as a 6 seed

They choked for two years yes but overall they have had some pretty nice runs I don't see any number one seeds getting choked away. Not to mention we went through a coaching change.

we've been to two Final 4s, a Championship game, and two Elite Eights in the last 6 years......

and we're chokers?

how ****ing stupid are people?

I do recall one of the biggest choke jobs in recent memory was MU ranked top 5 in preseason polls only to fall so far as to lose first round NIT at home... I sure miss Quinny boy...

Jealously creates stupidity in this case...

well, if your going to double-count the final fours, then we've been to 4 elite 8's in the last 6 years.

Before I moved here I didn't pay attention to KU, as is the case with most people not from around these parts. But the fans have made it very easy to root against the team. The bad part is, much like Duke, the fans make me hate the team, but the coach seems like a good enough guy I want him to win.

Its just trash talk between rivalries... Nothing more, nothing less....

This makes no sense, Dude.

I take it that you are in KANSAS. Lawrence (and KU) is less than 1 hour from downtown KC and it's much closer if you live in OP.

It's not like you're living in three states away. Additionally, most of the "fans" you refer to actually attended the university.

Who else do you expect people from Kansas and who attended the university to root for come NCAA time?

I guess that went over your head. Here, I'll elaborate.

First, to review:

2007 elite 8
2006 1st round
2005 1st round
2004 elite 8
2003 championship game
2002 final four

You said 1 championship game, 2 final fours, and 2 elite 8's, which makes no sense at all.

Depending on how you want to look at it, we either went to 1 championship game, 1 final four, and 2 elite 8's,

OR

we went to 1 championship game, 2 final 4's, and 4 elite 8's.

It depends on whether you want to double-count a final 4 and 2 elite 8's, or only look at final results.

I understand that, but I have never been part of either rivalry, but I still hear about it all day long. Before I moved here heck I rooted for KU in the 88 Final Four to beat OU because I was tired of Stacy King and that old OU coach. Well good luck to KU the rest of the tournament and good luck to KSU as well.. sorry MU.

I don't understand this logic. It seems to be the other way around. I know many people who have moved here and BECAME KU fans. When you move to a place where everybody embraces a certain team it promotes solidarity among people in a common area. That is a positive thing. KU fan's are known as very loyal, die hard, and most of the time classy fans.
