For the record, this is not about mizzou. This is questioning how the **** Miami got away with not just a slap on the wrist. A slap on the pinky.

What program is it that has the most sanctions in NCAA history?

That's what MU football is for; thank God for Gary Pinkel.

The basketball program is a trainwreck.

Posted in November 2011. Funny post to look back on.

Seems like he won the Big 12 championship on his way out the door. I remember scalping tickets to that game from a woman in Jayhawk gear. Lots of red and blue outside the arena...nothing but black and gold inside.

Yeah....

Give Danny Manning's dad another job while you're at it....

I shouldn't have bumped this because it's leading to Mizzou chatter.

Seriously, nobody's going to comment on the laughingstock idea that Miami gets ZERO bowl bans?

I'm pretty sure they already received self-imposed bowl bans in prior years. The NCAA just chose to not give them additional bowl bans.

Pretty nice when you can wait for the season to be almost over, realize you're only going to qualify for a shitty bowl game, then decide to self impose a bowl ban.

The NCAA's sanctions on Miami are a complete joke. The Oregon sanctions are even worse, because that in my opinion was university endorsed cheating. Keep in mind that USC had two forced bowl bans (with a good team) and lost 30 scholarships.

The NCAA has set a horrible precedent. The rules don't even matter anymore.

Miami self-imposed two consecutive bowl bans. Last year's bowl ban also included a ban on playing in the ACC Championship Game.

It is called credit for time served... 2 bowl bans, 3 years of uncertainty that led to massive levels of negative recruiting tactics used against Miami.

USC had two bowl bans, Miami had two bowl bans... what difference does it make how it was imposed?

The ironic thing about the whole Nevin Shapiro situation is it is difficult to show how Miami actually benefited, as a program from the benefits he provided players. During the years he was doing this, Miami's program actually began a gradual decline... especially in recruiting.

So what? Kansas got a year of probation in 1989 because of a plane ticket Larry Brown bought for a transfer who decided to not even come to play for him. Rules are rules, whether you benefit or not is not the point.
