Green Bay certainly needs some help in the Middle of their Defense at the Linebacker Position. The Packers select....Shayne Skov, ILB, Stanford. This guy is a tough, smart, productive, and instinctive player for a very stingy Stanford Defense over the past several seasons. There were some Injury concerns over whether or not his ACL was fully Recovered, but he put all that to rest this past Season. He should bode well for Green Bay's Defense.

The Eagles select:
Jared Abbrederis, WR, Wisconsin http://buckeyextra.dispatch.com/cont...ederis-620.jpg Could have double dipped at OLB or DB but I really like this kid |
TL;DR my rationale in spoiler tags.
Spoiler!
With their pick in the third round, the Kansas City Chiefs select Jarvis Landry, wide receiver, Louisiana State University. Chiefs fans might be uneasy with yet another receiver out of LSU, with Dwayne Bowe's antics off the field concerning interview talks about "importing" women and late night Sonic runs accompanied by illicit substances and sometimes maddeningly inconsistent plays on the field with untimely drops in big situations with circus catches in others decidedly less game changing. Landry brings a lot to the table for Andy Reid's west coast offense. He's made highlight reel catches in his time in the bayou. A knock on him is his small size, but the Reid and Pederson offense managed to get production out of the much shorter Dexter McCluster in 2013. Landry's propensity to get jammed by the press is outweighed by sure-handedness, route running ability and willingness to block downfield. If he can step into McCluster's role by week one and develop a relationship with Alex Smith as a short-to-intermediate go-to option, Landry can pose matchup problems for secondaries by drawing coverage off of Dwayne Bowe and Donnie Avery as well as alleviate defensive keying-in on Jamaal Charles. In addition, he has the makings of a team-first type of guy that is willing to contribute on special teams which gives Dave Toub options in kick coverage should Junior Hemingway step into more of an offensive role than the swing gunner / 4th-5th receiver option he currently occupies. |
The Bengals add another fatass for depth.
The Cincinnati Bengals select DaQuan Jones, DT, Penn State |
