There's absolutely nothing wrong with Hammond as a punt returner.

As a matter of fact, his numbers would be elite if he were allowed to return a full season.

He's still a young guy with plenty of upside. Those are the types of guys I've wanted for the Chiefs going back to Marty's days.

Draft, sign, develop.

**** the old guys like Avant, who hasn't done shit this season, as I projected, other than to take away snaps from guys like Conley.

I'd still draft someone to take over next year. Someone in round 3-5 with speed who can play WR would be a perfect replacement for DAT and Avant.

I think the Chiefs have far too many holes to draft a WR/KR next year but that's just me.

Hammond is fine.

Obviously this depends on who we have coming back, but where are all these holes at?

If we can keep everyone but Sean Smith, then OT and CB would be early needs. I think we look great everywhere else in that scenario. Just use the rest of the draft to fill holes in the back end

The Chiefs have some very important decisions to make with Sean Smith, DJ, Hali, Howard, Allen, Berry and others set to be free agents.

Backup QB could be an issue as well and there's very little depth at CB, which may require another starter.

If Allen doesn't return, there's a hole at LG and/or RT and there's no one really behind Kelce.

WR/KR is of very little importance at this time. IMO.

There will be guys available in roster cuts every year who are capable returners and ST players. There is almost no reason to ever spend a draft pick on one unless you can get a Dante Hall/Devin Hester type impact from one.

Of course they will save money because they wonr have to pay DAT anymore, but now they unexpectedly do not have a returner and a player of his skillset. So, absolutely he should be required to give back a prorated part of his signing bonus, however large or small that was.

Chiefs would NEVER ask him to return that. Use some common sense.

You think everything is fine.

You switched from a militant complainer to a militant homer.

Everything? Hardly.

The LG and RT positions are just short of garbage. DJ is fine but for how much longer? Mauga is serviceable at best, the CB positin has depth issues, there are questions beyond Wilson, Maclin and Conley. Ford is ascending but he has a long way before he's in Hali's company.

I could go on and on.

But punt returner is the least of the Chiefs worries.

Really need one of our rookie ILBs to work out. Would also be nice if Ford could grow into a starter. As much as I hate to say it, the team needs to go heavy on oline until the finally get some viable bodies.

Kevin Hogan 2nd round. Very smart, can run and is running a pro style offense. I would love to develop him to take over for AS11

Strange that at the beginning of Andy Reid's press conference when he was discussing the injuries, said he was going to address the DAT issue to nip it in the bud and said they put him on NFI and "it was not related to or has anything to do with the concussion."

If DAT is thinking of retiring because of the concussion, how could that NOT be concussion related?

I'm wondering if there is something more personal going on like alcohol? Very strange....

Part of the problem is that they are using Ford behind Houston and he is never going to be a starter at the position.

He should be playing Hali's position so he can learn his eventual position.

He recovered from the concussion. He's retiring so he doesn't get another one.

Cryptic message on his Twitter about not playing him in 2016. Not sure what it means but if dude doesn't want to be a Chief, as annoying as the loss of a pick and potential talent may be, I say screw him (earlier concussion concerns notwithstanding).
