Okay, first: you can't say this. You simply can't. You'll begin making strawman arguments on your own opinion of future success. His 2012 class has a chance to be absolutely, wildly successful. He signed two major guys-- two of his three scholarships given to HS seniors-- this year. One absolutely MAJOR kid didn't make it because Frank Martin is shady and ratted him out for attending the very school Martin persuaded him to enroll in.
Next year, he's got Brad Beal, Ben McLemore, and Otto Porter in-state to recruit. Brad has been solid on Florida since before CMA could really recruit him. McLemore grew up loving kU, but his mind still isn't made up (decision coming 4/3 BTW). Otto Porter is "the best High School player no one knows about" (ESPN.com), and he's coming to Missouri, coming off a 40-point effort in the MSHSAA state championship game. It's likely they land two five-star recruits, but at least one is a given.
In 2012, CMA will have his true test. He'll be replacing EIGHT players (why he took two JuCo's last year, adding to that already high number of six, is beyond me). He's already in on five top-100 players, Jarnell Stokes being his best bet right now (#10 in the country, I think?)
College basketball is all about recruiting, and I really think he'll get it done. If he doesn't, come 2013, I'll join the chorus for his departure. Until then, everything's gravy.
We're maybe the 30th best program in the country. I'll take pretty much anyting as a bonus while we establish ourselves as an elite team. If we don't, it won't be for lack of trying.
