@TheFilmRoom: It is a luxury to have two players that can play LT...would it be better to bring Winston/Richardson back to have a traditional RT? |

Send him to Miami for their second and one of their thirds then use those to trade up if you want

might actually be interesting to watch the draft tonight. I shut it down after Miami picked last night with Jordan.

Depth is nice, but 1.1 for depth is just...well there's no way to describe those levels of stupidity. |

How has CP traffic fared compared to previous years for the first round? Just Curious.

Provably inaccurate. The Patriots moved up TWICE last year in the first round to get Jones and Hightower, and have moved multiple picks to get established NFL veterans in the last few years (most of which have not worked out, but it's not like they haven't been willing to trade picks to move up and/or get players). |

Broadly, I think they're just more patient. I remember hearing that when Red Auerbach took Larry Bird, who was draft eligible but had already declared he was going back to college for his senior year, with the #6 pick, he was questioned (criticized) by many for using such a high pick on a guy that wouldn't even play for him. He puffed on his cigar and basically said "what's a year? One stinking year? I've been doing this for 30 years, I can wait one more for talent like that." Of course it also has to do with talent assessment and being comfortable in your own skin and having the support of ownership. Much fo Patriots Nation used to go nuts at all the trade backs and trade outs, and I'm sure some still do, but we're pretty well used to it by now. |
