Royals lead the division in runs scored and fewest allowed. Our run differentialis 16 ahead of the next best team in the division.
Not bad given the 0-2 start. |
Another tidbit: Yesterday was the 40th anniversary of Kauffman(Royals) Stadium. 4/10/73!

Jeffries actually had a pretty good 1992 season, but he had completely awful luck, especially early. .282 BABIP as he hit .280. Of course, the next year, his luck equalizes. Jeffries hit .342 in 1993, posting an .894 OPS, 5.1 WAR, and 142 OPS+. And he was almost as good in 1994. Add Jeffries to those two teams INSTEAD of Felix Jose, and KC is in much better shape. Meanwhile, Felix Jose was terrible in 1993 and just average in 1994. Great job, Herk Robinson. |

I actually like Craig quite a bit and would consider trading even that package for him. The only thing I don't like is that he has had a really hard time staying healthy when playing more physically demanding positions. Herrera and Collins would be a tough pill to swallow, but if there is one thing Dayton Moore has been EXCELLENT at, it is filling the bullpen reliably. They would need Holland to stabilize and start pitching a little bit better. And maybe they can convince the Cardinals to take Donnie Joseph instead of Tim Collins (not a deal-breaker, though). Even if they lost Herrera and Collins out of the pen, the Royals could reinforce the bullpen pretty quickly. Yordano Ventura might not be ready to start in the major leagues yet, but he certainly could pitch out of the pen right now and be lights out. You don't leave him there long-term, but I don't mind getting his feet wet out of the pen this year. Donnie Joseph would be a lights-out LOOGY right away. Duffy could also pitch out of the pen this year and be pretty dynamite. Again, not a long-term thing, but not a bad way to work him back into the major leagues, either. |

Most of us already know this, but the Bubba Starling experiment is not going to end well.

To get a veiw of the KC skyline, you would most likely loose the ability to tailgate. Most, if not all downtown stadiums only have parking garages. Would take a lot of the fun out of game day.
