So why doesnt Butler drive in more runs? Is it because guys in front of him never get on, or he sucks with RISP?

RBI is one of the most useless stats in baseball. Not to say that Butler has been great this season, but Betancourt and Jose Guillen were near the top of our RBI chart last year, which should demonstrate how silly that stat is.

Dayton Moore trading for guys like this no talent clown and that other no talent clown Mazarro should be adding up. The Royals are back to being a joke nationwide because of guys like these... O'Sullivan and Mazarro should be released outright.

Few things:

1) Mazzaro is a 24-year old pitcher trying to figure it out in AAA. He had a few good seasons in the low to mid minors before Oakland rushed him a little bit. Sometimes its fine to rush players who are obviously ready, but he obviously wasn't. To say he should be released is silly when he's got talent and options. Lets see if our minor league coaches can fix what the A's screwed up.

2) DeJesus is not having a good year this year, and Callaspo has been OK. We didn't give up much to try to patch up our biggest glaring weakness until our starting prospects are ready.

3) You act as if there were a lot of excellent pitchers available for the taking in some weird starting pitching oversupply buyer's market. Teams don't trade good starting pitching these days for less than an arm and a leg. If someone is available for a DeJesus or is a free agent, he's either old, bad, talented with some serious question marks, or an expensive mega-free agent.

I know how the trade market works for starting pitching. But these 2 guys we acquired both had historically bad starts, I really would like to know if an organization had 2 historically bad starts within a 2 week time period especially from guys who were acquired in trades? Would MUCH rather have DeJesus out in centerfield than Melky. I think Mazzaro's time is done here, when he left that game it appeared the guys on the bench had nothing to say to him. Good riddance Mazzaro.

Uhhh.... not me.

DeJesus - age 31, .253/.330/.394, 102 OPS+

Cabrera - age 26, .275/.308/.460, 115 OPS+

Looking at the defensive stats, Melky has been a slightly below-average center fielder, and DDJ has been a significantly below-average RF.

Looking at the defensive stats, both are below-average so far this season in center field, but DDJ has been worse than Melky.

I never knew Cabrera was only 26. Wow.

Sure-Oz 05-29-2011 10:40 AM

Melky will get traded eventually and Cain will be our leadoff man

It would have saved us from having to look at Mazzaro.

If Cain can be anywhere close to average as a hitter, I'd be fine with that. Cain's glove is supposed to be very good, his bat is just not there yet.

At worst, we threw away a 700-something OPS bad defensive right fielder on the wrong side of 30. So what?

I am kind of tired of rooting for a national embarrassment of a team. But in the end we gave up something for nothing.

Hard to imagine we couldn't get anything better than a worthless (literally) pitcher for DeJesus, but perhaps that's the fact, not just another DM ML roster **** up.
