Not really. For high-priced rookies, they usually get to stick around a few years and earn a lot of the "unguaranteed" money anyway. It takes teams awhile (in general) to find out what they have and learn if the player is just struggling early, or if they are full-blown bust. I think this works out really well for the owners. They might be out some guaranteed money, but at least they aren't on the hook for the big annual salaries if somebody pulls a full-on Jamarcus.

Yeah I saw horrible bosses the other night, movie was freaking halarious, and it was in that movie. I have been waiting for 3 days to use that line.

Giants agreed to terms with DE/OLB Mathias Kiwanuka on a multi-year contract.
There goes Osi Umenyiora's holdout leverage. Kiwi is a high-risk investment because of his neck injuries, but his versatility and pass-rushing ability also made him one of the most intriguing defenders on the market. The Giants may now be open to offers for Umenyiora, though Kiwanuck also figures to see plenty of time at outside linebacker with the position in flux. Source: Justin Tuck on Twitter

Cowboys agreed to terms with No. 9 overall pick OT Tyron Smith on a fully guaranteed four-year, $12.5 million contract.
Smith was a two-year starter at right tackle for the Trojans, earning the Morris Trophy as the PAC 10's top offensive lineman in 2010. He profiles as a long-term blindside protector with smooth athleticism and quick feet, though the Cowboys figure to keep him on the right side as a rookie. Smith should be an upgrade on declining veteran Mark Colombo. Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter

Stephen Bowen joins the Redskins

The Redskins picked up an expensive defensive lineman Thursday, it just wasn’t Cullen Jenkins. At least not yet.

For now, Washington fans can envision how former Cowboys defensive end Stephen Bowen will fit into the dramatically re-modeled Redskins defense. Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports that Bowen will make $27.5 million, including $12.5 million guaranteed.

That’s a lot of money for a guy with only 11 career starts, although it’s worth noting Dallas wanted to keep Bowen. We’ll withhold judgement on this one because we heard from a number of people that Bowen was among the best sleepers in this year’s free agent class.

For that money, he better be a difference maker.

Hali just might bend Clark and Pioli over a barrel and show them the 50 states. ROFL **horrible bosses reference**

for comparison, here's what the #9 pick got last year...almost twice as much guaranteed:

Quote:

The Buffalo Bills have signed first-round pick C.J. Spiller to a five-year deal.

Spiller's deal is worth $25 million, but could escalate as high as $37.5 million if incentives are met, a source told ESPN.com senior NFL writer John Clayton. According to the source, the contract also includes $20.8 million in guarantees.

It should be a rule in NFL contract negatiations that you can't use Redskins contracts as comparables (and Panthers based on their signings so far this year).

They are saying that if a not-half-as-good-as-Hali player can demand such a fat contract, Hali is gonna want big bucks~

If you haven't seen the movie Horrible Bosses you should. It is from the movie. Took the wife and we laughed quite a bit. Everyone knows when they are happy, we are happy.

Still hearing Dallas and New Orleans in the mix for Cullen Jenkins. Overall market for DTs been soft to form. SEA wants to keep Mebane...

Good news for chiefs and franklin?
