That would be even more confusing for the players.

Can someone tell me... Is Peyton Manning out for the year?

He's not out for the year- 3 months and not on IR so that the Colts can release him without a cap hit if he's done for his career.

This loss would have pissed me off had I actually expected us to win more than 6 games this year. Maybe we can be shitty enough to finally draft a QB worth a crap for the first time in 50 years next year.

its really not the loss that stings ( I expected to loose the first 2 anyway) its the manor in which we were pummeled. It was if an unprepared D2 school showed up to play an NFL team and were reminded that they are in fact a D2 school. Just pathetic.

Thanks... wish it could have been without injuries though... you all lost Berry for a long time and we lost McGee for a while. I REALLY REALLY want the Patriots and Jets's blood, though. I can't help but think back to the year we beat the Pats 32-0 Week 1 and went down a cliff. I apologize for all the Bills trolls here... some just take internet anonymity to a whole ridiculous level.

I just started thinking, for 15 years or so we've started QBs that entered the league with a very small chance to stick, Green worked out, but they all had deficiencies coming out of college that make it unlikely they would become starters.

Did the Todd Blackledge pick so scar the Hunt family that they have a sign or something saying, Never draft a QB in the 1st round. They'll only break your heart?

Messier 09-11-2011 08:35 PM

In fact don't the Chiefs have the longest streak of not taking a QB in the 1st round by far?

The Bills have only drafted one QB since 1983 in the first round (J.P. Losman in the LATE first round), and so you're not alone. It just isn't done with some organizations. Ralph Wilson has been accused of being cheap for years...! It makes sense... QBs naturally get a lot more money in the high first round!

Since 1995 we've had a 6th, two 8th rounders, and a 7th as our starters. Not that a1st rounder is the end all be all, but it'd be nice to have a highly touted QB that didn't need to "open some eyes" when they replaced their teams regular starter.

At least you've gone with free agents/trades with some experience (Bono, Grbac, Green). We have had draft picks and they have been as putrid as they come. It all comes down to (mis)management of the personnel- you've been hurt through free agency, we've been hurt by drafting bums like Rob Johnson, J.P. Losman, Trent Edwards, etc (except for ol shell-shocked Bledsoe and cancerous Flutie).

If you don't go for a QB in the top couple of rounds AND have the right scouting/GM, you're screwed. You end up with Ryan Leaf, Heath Shuler, Joey Harrington, Alex Smith, and on and on...

Could anyone tell me what was up with the outcome of that early play (1st Q I believe) where we got called for a hold, and they got a personal foul (facemask?)? I think they spotted the ball at the spot of our hold, and ignored the personal foul.

Yeah IDK what the **** that was about. That was bullshit. If anything it should have been offsetting penalties.

Anybody have any incite on this, or did the refs just totally **** up?
