Gray's problem this year, from what I can tell, is his command on his secondary pitches. He can't throw those for strikes worth anything, so hitters can completely eliminate the soft stuff and jump all over his fastball. His velocity is fine, same as it was last season, around 93 mph on average. However, opponents are hitting .293 on that fastball this season. Opposed to: .269 in 2015, .259 in 2014, .260 in 2013.
He also has a two-seam fastball that is getting hit even harder. He has thrown in 350 times this season and opponents are hitting .350 off of that pitch. As opposed to: .262 in 2015, and .272 in 2014.

It should be a fixable problem, and I would personally jump on it with the right deal because of his track record.
