We had two chances at field goals we didn't take! Why? We know this is going to be a low scoring game. Gun making a statement of attitude just cost you a loss. Period.

Bob Dole 09-10-2000 02:43 PM

Bob Dole isn't a little angry.

Bob Dole is a LOT ANGRY.

Our players played their arses off, and the coaching staff ran around with the most serious case of cranio-rectal syndrome Bob Dole has ever witnessed.

kcred 09-10-2000 02:56 PM

When in the hell is the idiotic coaching staff going to realize, you can't run the damn ball, without someone who can. I don't know if it is the fault of the line, the backs or who, but every damn time I see a sea of red jerseys, from the Chiefs, and white from the Titans, I know, there is going to be little or no gain. Who else in the stadium and the thousands watching, knew we would run the ball, with less than 3 min. remaining. We could have play actioned and who knows. Our coaching staff is clueless. And I love the zone having Wesley on a wideout, Christ, that was a tough loss.

Bob Dole 09-10-2000 03:00 PM

Bob Dole would put the lack of a running game today on the O-Line. There were very few holes for the backs to hit.

Of course, few of the plays were actually imaginative enough to fool anyone. (Except thos 3rd and 14 runs...boy those were tricky.)

Stoyoanovich and Kurt Schottenheimer cost KC this game.

Every week there's a different goat. Unbelievable!! http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/mad.gif

Gun is full of $hit.

"I told them either draft me a running back or a wide reciever, either one and we'd use em to improve the offense."

What he should have said was the truth. "You can draft whoever you want, but I don't care if I have to line Paul Palmer up in the backfield, we're going to run."

Gun is a dumbass. His promises the last two years to open up the offense and be more aggrressive have all vanished. He should be voted out of office...

kcred 09-10-2000 03:03 PM

For whatever it is worth, heres my vote.

Clint in Wichita 09-10-2000 03:15 PM

The running game sucks arse when TR isn't running the ball. Why he didn't get more carries I have no idea.

If Cloud had cut inside of his blocker on that 4th and goal from the 3 like he obviously should've, he could've gotten 7 points. Instead, he showed us why he's a scrub RB.

They played a good game today. Where we got hurt was not making use of Tony G. I don't know if that is more on play calling or the QB.

Huge mistake on Gun to be a stubborn a** on 4th and goal at the one. IT'S CALLED PLAY ACTION!!! IT USUALLY WORKS BEST WHEN THE D IS EXPECTING A RUN! (another spot we could have thrown to Tony G.). I agree with Clint on Cloud not reading the block right. If he had cut off of the butt of his blocker he probably would have made it. Why would you go where to blocker is taking him? http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Thanks Stoyanovich. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/mad.gif 'NUFF SAID!

Defense rocked most of the game. If only our play calling on all offense could be as good as our defense. Can't bite on the "Music City Miracle".

Nice stick on McNair!!! http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

The straw that broke the Chiefs back? A couple of BS calls from the refs at key times during the game. Last time I checked the ball had to be catchable before it could be considered pass interference. Oh yeah, there also has to be a considerable amount of contact too.

We played pretty well overall. Losing in overtime to the Titans, when the majority was expecting a lot worse (myself included), isn't anything to be ashamed of.

I'll probably say this two or three dozen times: The Chiefs would've won the game in regulation had Stoyo not missed that chip-shot. The "bad" calls didn't kill us today.

I am sorry they lost, but this week is not a good one to lose. Denver is up 27-9 chargers 17-7 seahawks are only 3 points behind the rams.... looks like this week we will be on the bottom of the standings box.

Bob Dole,
I knew you were just more than a little angry

In a worst case scenario, the Chiefs will get a high first round pick and a 5th place schedule.

Just seeing the silver lining...

mlyonsd 09-10-2000 03:54 PM

My view is there were two critical series that someone (Gun and Raye) had better learn from...

1st and goal from the three and you can't run the ball in.

1st and 10 with 3:11 left and you run two successive running plays.

It is terribly apparent that we cannot run to set up the pass. It is the other way around. We need to set up the run by the passing game.

As much as I like Gun he better learn quickly that we cannot dominate most teams with our running game.

The_Grand_Illusion 09-10-2000 04:59 PM

Despite the bad playcalling and bad coaching, we still almost won the game. KC has the talent. It's just very frustrating right now.
First order of business, JR needs to go along with the unimaginitive offensive system.

Dan

Trying to keep his chin up and calling for JR's head.

Nelson Muntz 09-10-2000 05:24 PM

mlyonsd hit the nail on the head. we have to pass to set up the run.
