Yes, that is exactly what I'm talking about. We should be dominating them on the glass.

did i say we couldn't beat good teams?

no ... i said i don't think we adjust very much. I think our success in the second half has much to do with our depth as much as any adjustments.

usually our halftime adjustments are pretty much just switching up who defends who. We rarely actually change our gameplan imo.

Yep. I think that's the key to the 2nd half. I think we need to stay big just so we can secure the rebounds because SIU has way too many 2nd chances. The problem is that if we have two or three big men on the court at the same time, SIU's defense has a better chance at scoring a steal.

Simply Red 03-22-2007 06:12 PM

Law is/will be in the top 5 picks IMO.

Fairplay 03-22-2007 06:12 PM

Slipping the refs some greenbacks might help the game plan also.

agreed ...... that's why i think Collins has to run the point

he is fast enough to do it without much help. Self just needs to tell him to stay under control and be a little more patience.

go big ..... pound it inside early

Changing who guards who is included in adjustments. And yeah, we may just wear teams down. But do you not think that Self adjusted his team to win both Texas games? And we totally dominated UK in the 2nd half. Sometimes, the strategic adjustments are not very obvious. IMO, the last game that Self did a poor job of coaching was against Texas Tech.

KU can break this game open, but it won't be until there are three minutes left in the game or however long it takes all of us to pull our hair out.

yes. when Self puts Rush on the others team's best scorer at halftime, it is an adjustment.

hardly dramatic ... and yes, sometimes dramatic isn't needed.

but Self is pretty mediocre when it comes to X's and O's

Good guy, who is a great recruiter, who runs a very good program.

We need to come out of the half smokin' like we have been doing.
