I wish we could bury all this resentment, but I'd be mad too if I had lost both a HOF coach, and an all-time college great to the same school....

Not that you have to read all of my posts (you should though LMAO ), but I've mentioned in this thread that 1) it's not backlash-love, and 2) I have nothing against Roy Williams or UNC.

The short list of media love over the past few years...
Michael Beasley -- As a coworker said, his pretentiousness would be much cuter if he was 7, but he's still the best player in the nation.
Kevin Durant -- Loved the kid, and I hated seeing him go since I don't watch the NBA.
Kevin Love -- I hear he does it all, but I haven't seen much more than highlights of UCLA.
TJ Ford -- Seriously, WTF? ESPN completely fell in love with this kid, I'd say more than with Hansbrough, yet I never found out why.

Tyler Hansbrough -- He can rebound and play defense, and shoot a lot of free throws. He's really good under the basket and never seems to 'not show up'. However, with the ball, he's one of the most awkward kids I've ever seen. I've never seen anyone else get tied up while taking a shot more than him, and I've never seen anyone intentionally draw more contact. The last second shot against Clemson was about the first time I've seen him hit a shot when he wasn't standing under the basket, and he misses a lot of easy shots because he's flailing his arms so he can go to the foul line. He's a flailer. When the refs aren't calling his crap and he adjusts, I see flashes of the PoY... but he's no Keven Durant or Michael Beasley.

I don't think Hansborough will be a star in the NBA, probably a solid backup if anything

I find it interesting that David Padgetts last college game will be against the coach that successfully recruited him to college.

Actually, I dont think you will hear much about him period once he leaves UNC...

What are the odds he comes back for his SR season.. I say pretty good. He is pretty low on alot of draft boards...

Most people other than ESPN talking heads arent buying into the Physco T hype...

I do in fact often read your posts and do generally agree with you and respect your takes, but while you've mentioned some legit things about his game, you're leaving out a lot too. He's got a reliable face-up shot from 10 to 15ft, and I've seen him nail 3's with regularity in practice (and think you might see it somewhere in this Tourney, and if not then next season). He does draw contact, and sometimes intentionally, but he's also been double and triple-teamed this year, and still scored consistently, despite being draped AND FOULED, NBA style. Sometimes it's called, sometimes it isn't, but he rarely fails to score either way. If the "last second shot against Clemson was the first time you've seen him hit a shot when he wasn't standing under the basket", then you either haven't watched many UNC games, or you have absolutely zero credibility on this issue. The most legitmate criticism of him is he's very much like Kevin McHale (whom Danny Ainge use to refer to as "the black-hole) who when he got the ball in the post, rarely re-distributed, but also like KM, Tyler usually delivers.

I hope his last game is against the coach who booted his ass out of his first stop.

I wouldn't say he rarely fails to score when he's either fouled or trying to get a call. I've seen him sacrifice the shot for the contact several times, which is my biggest annoyance towards anyone that plays basketball. It's the equivalent to diving, and just as bad as when players fall backwards like they've been shot in the chest after minor contact. He's strong with the basketball, but also very awkward at times... I think he'd be so much better if he concentrated on the shot and not the contact.

Well, I did say "about the first time". ;) That was probably exaggerated a little, and no, I haven't seen a ton of UNC games this year (I'd actually like to see more because Roy's style is entertaining)... but, in the games I have seen, I haven't noticed much range on the offensive side of the ball.
