It's not a yes or no question. I gave you the proper answer. Maybe the same breakage won't happen, but an airliner just lost it's top recently in mid-air. So yes planes can break apart in mid-air, due to structural problems that are left to fester.

Look I do understand that this one broke in half most likely due to landing gear, the ground, etc., etc., etc. I'm even saying it is perhaps THE reason IN THIS PARTICULAR INCIDENT! But I'm arguing a broader point, and idiots want to pin me down to this incident.

Your broader point has now become that aircraft sometimes have structural failures that DON'T result in a massive fuselage failure like shown in the OP BECAUSE THEY HAVE NEVER HAPPENED and you didn't know that.
