Orton's salary is 7.4M. 6 wk remaining balance is 2.6M. That amount assumed by new team if claimed; otherwise Broncos will owe.

It would be stupid to pay Kyle ****ing Orton 2.6M dollars to play 6 games in a season that's already basically lost.

....which is why they'll probably do it. :doh!:

How sad is it we are discussing the merits of claiming Orton off waivers or not to.

The only positive I can think of in all of this is had this happened earlier the Raiders could have saved 2 high picks and had no drop in performance at QB.

We needed more performance at QB that's why we got one of the best ones in the NFL

Ok pop quiz

Who would be the best QB out of these 3 to prove to the coaching staff that Cassel is the problem

Orton (seasoned vet)
Palko (Todd Marijuanavich wanna be)
Stanzi (a 5th rounder who probably gets coffee for the staff during meetings)

None of the above honestly. If the F.O. does not see that Cassel is the problem, Orton won't change that.

Like hell it won't. If Orton comes in and keeps the games close without having an offseason to learn the offense.....it will show the FO just how shitty Cassel is.

Pick a F/A then...

How bout Jason Campbell?

Like he did in Minn? Sorry but no McNabb is done.

If the options are Palko and Orton (and I believe they are at this point; the team's given no indication that Stanzi's in the mix) then I bring in Orton yesterday.

That is a big IF for a guy who lost his starting job to Tebow. Why would he be any better than Cassel here?

Chiefs should put in a claim on him. We will need a good backup/potential early season starter for our rookie QB next year.

Id rather lose out then have kyle raw dog orton playing quarterback for us...im mean jesus cmon we all know how shitty he is..id rather see a unproven rookie shit the bed then orton come in and win one game and lose 5

On the other hand, if Orton comes in and does terrible (which is more likely than him doing well imo), then it might be "Oh well nobody could perform with these circumstances...Cassel just needs more protection, Charles healthy, and someone less inept at running an offense".

Honestly though, I don't think Pioli is dumb enough not to realize that Cassel sucks. I mean...it's just not possible. Right? Right??!?!!?!

I don't expect anybody who is a Chief fan to give 2 shits about Carson, I just want the true fans of the game to see him as the QB and the leader he is....

Carson has barely scratched the Al Saunders playbook... and he looks more in control of that offense than any QB since Gannon, he barks out audibles and directs traffic... Knows how to throw a screen and can find the open man..

If this team does not win another game this season, as long as they beat the Chiefs atleast by 28 points I will be happy... I hope the Chiefs wait until that game to try Stanzi out too.

We will see this offseason, but I am scared to think that he and Haley somehow believe in him because of his flukey Pro Bowl season last year.
