For those who would take Geno over Cam, go on record. What do you expect from Geno in his rookie season, and how many games do you think he will win if drafted by KC?

I

What part about "I don't care about his stats" do you not get?

He's a crybaby diva with very little going on upstairs.

Not sure how well Cam would fit in a WCO like Reid wants to run, doesn't have very good accuracy.

DeezNutz 02-18-2013 03:34 PM

His physical skills are off the chart, but I don't know enough about his intangibles to say that I would NOT want him in KC.

Fans don't have a good read on this. We'd have to be privy to interviews, etc.

I dunno about that.

I do. All day long.

Cam Newton is a more physically gifted version of Vince Young or a little bit taller Tim Tebow without the leadership skills and positive mores. Questionable pass accuracy, me first attitude, bad real time decision making, questionable leadership skills. His pysical skills translated extremely well to the college level, but running through guys from the QB position isn't going to happen in the NFL. Last guy who was effective at that was Steve Young, and he also had exceptional accuracy in the pass.

Personally, I think he (Newton) has already hit his ceiling.

Dude, I actually agree with you on alot of this but this question is disingenuous at best.

You just spent an hour arguing about Cam's stats and then you want to know about WINS.

Cam Newton won 6 games his rookie season and 7 this season.

Which is it? Stats? Or wins?

I want to know both. Why is that disingenuous? His physical performance will show itself through stats. These supposed intangibles should manifest themselves through wins.

I think Geno's stats will be laughable compared to Newton's, and I don't think he wins more than 6 games, either...and I WANT us to draft him.

Hmmm...let's see...

Home: Denver, Oakland, San Diego, Houston, Indianapolis, Dallas, Giants, Cleveland

Away: Denver, Oakland, San Diego, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Philadelphia, Washington, Buffalo

9-7 for Geno in his rookie season if drafted by the Chiefs with a +/- 1. (i.e., 8-8 or 10-6 are possible.)

This team might be able to win 6 games with MATT CASSEL under center, that's how much better Reid and his staff are than Romeo.

With an upgrade at QB, they'll win more than 6 games guaranteed.

I'd assume currently that with Geno starting, the Chiefs are capable of splitting with Oakland and SD, and getting wins against Jacksonville, Cleveland and maybe Tennessee. Not knowing the schedule and who is on rosters yet kinda hinders my guess.

I'd expect (viewing this from coach perspective) 60% completion, YPA at 7, and a 2-1 TD/INT ratio.

I think that is reasonable and probably attainable given the situation he'd be coming into and the weak teams he'll get in the division.

I'm not expecting him to out perform Cam stat wise next year. I am expecting him to out perform him in terms of accuracy and pocket presence (comparing him to rookie Cam of course)

Saul Good 02-18-2013 03:44 PM

Holy shit, people...you really are delusional.

I count six almost certain losses: Denver, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, New York, Washington.

I count zero sure wins, and two where I think we would be favored by more than a FG (Oakland and Cleveland). Even if you chalk those up as wins (dumb) and split the rest, that's 6-10.

Man if Geno turns out to have a bad NFL career some of these threads are going to be a gold mine.

You draft before us. And I am a big Geno/Barkley fan.

That doesn't make a lot of these posts any less crazy.

Not to worry. The LOW END of his possible win totals next year will be six games better than last year. It will probably be seven or eight, though.
