I like it. Hopefully we win that early season series as well.

Congrats, Duncan! Welcome to the greatest job on Earth - Parenthood. Enjoy this time with your babies. It won't seem like it initially, but time will fly by.

Slow to the game, but I just read that Cueto and zo can't receive qualifying offers. That sucks.

TBS getting ready to preview ALCS.

Do you guys really think he is a good manager or does he simply have a really good team? I honestly think the latter, but you guys watch more Royals games than I do.

He's a below average manager. He has alot of easy decisions because our bullpen is so good and he usually doesn't have to worry about matchups. People like him this year because his goofy, oddball things have worked.

Did hitting Moose #2 for a while make Moose a better hitter? It's unlikely. Moose put in the work in the offseason to figure out how to be a better rounded hitter and beat the shift. Hitting him 8th or 2nd or whatever, doesn't matter, he was going to be a better player.

We have a better winning percentage when we lead off Escobar than when we don't. Is that statistically relevant? Probably not.

It's difficult to really know how much these decisions really make any difference or not. I'm in the camp of not being results oriented with a manager...because in the grand scheme of things they aren't that important. Ned Yost being the Brewers manager this year wasn't going to climb them out of the cellar, or do anything else in particular. Players play. It's a players game.

So, I'm not a big Ned Yost fan when it comes to analytics and tactical decision making. I could and many others could go on even a longer list of stuff he has done that makes little sense.

With that said, the game isn't all x's and o's. He's a great clubhouse presence, by all accounts the guys love him. He's a players manager, and always has his guys back. So have to give him some credit there, but I feel being a clubhouse presence has so little to do with actual wins and losses.

correct. Have to have the player for the entire year to QO him

penbrook 10-15-2015 11:13 PM

They ranked Marrin in front of Perez uh what now

A Salt Weapon 10-16-2015 12:36 AM

I'm guessing that position breakdown is based mostly off batting? I just don't see those splits on defense.
Escobar and Perez are even if not in our favor defensively.
Moustakas isn't that far less defensively.

LMAO

"If Wednesday’s ALDS Game 5 outcomes were any indicator, this year’s American League Championship Series should be an entertaining one, but watching the Kansas City Royals and Toronto Blue Jays play for a ticket to the World Series has to make Orioles fans gag."

Is it assumed the Royals will have the same 25 man roster for this series as they did against the Astros?

Donaldson is the best defensive 3Baseman in the league. Moose is above average to Good... But not at Josh's level.

Hootie 10-16-2015 07:31 AM

Well, Donaldson is arguably the best 3rd baseman defensively in the AL. For my money, I'd take Machado, who will probably move to SS soon enough.

But neither of those guys touch Arenado over in the NL.

I prefaced that with League (meaning AL). Arenado is disgusting, and one of the best infield gloves (along with Simmons) that Baseball has produced in years.

You politely sum up my feelings on Nedgar. I think he's dumb as shit, but I also think DM has assembled this team to a point that its hard to f up.
