5 seconds ahead

OMG

tk13 08-07-2016 08:10 PM

It blows my mind when someone can break a world record like that. Just completely blows away what any person has ever done before.

Buzz 08-07-2016 08:11 PM

Dam, she killed it.

ChiTown 08-07-2016 08:12 PM

JFC, she's not even out of ****ing breath. What a freak

Pablo 08-07-2016 08:12 PM

Thats some serious level BS. They IOC should have got that Lebanese team off the bus and told them to walk then and sent them home later.

Your at the Olympics you are going to be in the same building as Jews. Get over it.

I feel sorry for the guy swimming in Lane 4. The water is probably still boiling from Ledecky's run.

That's the whole thing the Olympics is about.

She's a freak show. I've had my ass beat in plenty of races, but it would be goddamned miserable to make it to the highest stage and get thoroughly obliterated like that. Not even competitive.

kcpasco 08-07-2016 08:36 PM

Ledecky owns 11 world records, that's insane.

'Hamas' Jenkins 08-07-2016 08:38 PM

The girl from Canada here is a Mizzou alum. If recent patterns for the University hold, she'll probably drown.

GloryDayz 08-07-2016 08:39 PM

OK, I looked up "cupping" (the red circles on these swimmers) and WOW!!!

Kinda **** THAT!!

Basically, cupping involves a cup attached to a pump. Athletes put the cup on their skin and create suction with the pump. Some say the technique increases blood flow and helps a person’s sore muscles heal.
According to WebMD, cupping therapy “dates back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures.”
Phelps apparently uses a version of the therapy that involves heat to create suction (it was even featured in his Under Armor ad announcing his return to competitive swimming).

It must be pretty cool to not only be the best in the world but light years faster than the other athletes who are the best in the world in your athletic field.
