I refuse to believe any Chiefs and/or Alex Smith fan is surprised Alex played like shit today. He is incapable of having two good games in a row.

The Chiefs had won 10 games straight.

Sounds like a prophecy about the Chiefs quarterbacks post-Dawson.

Are you sure that he wasn't talking about you?

The Chiefs aren't running into Johnny Manziel, Jimmy Clausen or Landry Jones this year.

Landry, Stafford, Manning/Osweiler, Rivers, Tyrod Taylor, Carr, Rivers again, Clausen, Manziel Carr again and Hoyer.

Rivers is about the only QB on that list that KC played in that 10 game stretch that's objectively better than Alex. Stafford is what he is. Carr and Taylor have shown promise. Landry is a career backup at best. Hoyer is Matt Schaub without the talent.

Manziel and Clausen aren't even in the league and Manning was a shell of his former self.

You'd expect a game manager to beat JAG QBs.

Alex Smith isn't playing against Troy Aikman.

Got flamed for this in the Spring, but I said that last season was the ceiling with the coaching and personnel. The defense and running game can put away JAG QBs and the ho-hum 7-9/8-8 type of teams but when you play New England and Green Bay with great QBs or a more complete team in Cincinnati.. They're not winning and it's no going to be close.

KC didn't upgrade on offense outside of Schwartz (which doesn't look like much of an upgrade) and only have two receivers worth a spit in Maclin and Kelce. The defense is worse without Houston who might not even come back this year.

Finishing in the top half of the AFC West will be a struggle unless Conley takes a quantum leap and becomes a #2 WR guy that flashes #1 upside and the defense plays out of their minds.

Looks to me like Alex is going to sabotage Conley's career development. He can't get targets because he doesn't run the kind of routes Alex likes.

You're gonna have to back up that claim with some evidence.

Anyone who suggested anything other than "all is well, depth, Denver is toast, Super Bowl!!!!!" Got flamed.

3-yard out routes?

Maybe it was just a hangover from last weeks win but I dare say, Alex Smith started showing his age a bit today. He looked slow. He couldn't get away from anyone and his bread and butter in the spread offense is his ability to be sneaky fast. If he loses his legs I think he loses part of his game that makes him who he is. Because he's not a guy that can stand in the pocket all game and drop dimes.

wasn't decisive and seemed unusually unwilling to take off running..

maybe he is hiding an injury, because he did not look right.

I know.. I know... "excuses", right?

Just trying to make sense of it, because it is rare to see him play that poorly. He may rarely be an exciting QB, but he is usually steady solid. Not today.

Red Dawg 09-18-2016 05:08 PM

He does not have the magic nor the arm strength to try and produce it.

In58men 09-18-2016 05:11 PM

I think he could provide more for us if Reid wasn't such a scared bitch.

MTG#10 09-18-2016 05:12 PM

Im not an Alex hater but anyone who thinks this guy is or ever was even close to the QB that Trent Green was is a damn fool.
