Dayton Moore has been hemming and hawing about what the Royals will do in the future. It's going to be the same old drill ala the Damon-Dye-Beltran-Sweeney days. These "prospects" will all cut their teeth learning to play the game here, start to get good, and the team will choose one of them to pay, and that's it. We'll still have a payroll of anywhere from $40 to $70 mill a year, which is still less than half of what a quarater (or more) of baseball will be paying out in payroll by that point.
Guys, we're AAAA. That's just the way it is. At the very least, why are we still playing guys like Getz and Betemit? Now that June is here, bring up the youngsters and get them some experience. If we're going to lose 90 games, lets use the PT to get the new guys some quality experience. |

A: When you go ad hominem to defend your position. Hey, I'd love it if the Royals were better, but you can only get hit in the freakin' face with a frying pan so many times before you learn to duck. |
dude, if you don't think this franchise is in MUCH better shape than it has been you're a fool.
Actually, I'm quite sure you are a fool. And a miserable one at that. "Meow, meow, Glass is cheap, Meow, minor league team, meow meow, we'll never win anything, meow." |

I get that you're pissed. But pissed doesn't have to mean stupid. |
Yeah, OK. I'll go enjoy the day. Let's see how bad we beat up on those miserable, stinky Twins this weekend. Surely we'll crush them. I mean, every team in baseball is better than the Twins, right?
One last thought: After this homestand, 60% of the Royals remaining games are on the road. I doubt that's going to help the year end W-L record. But then again, the more we lose, the better draft choice we'll get in 2012. And we're all about draft choices, aren't we? See you in the 2014 World Series! Oh, and Starling won't sign with the Royals. Alice is a Cornhusker booster and will go have a little talk with him. heh.... |
And I should add that that doesn't mean they *will* take Starling if he's on the board. But if they don't, it's probably safe to say that signability is probably not the primary reason. They may want an arm. They may want a college player.
Or they may want Starling... Who knows. But we do know one thing: they have been spending money in the draft in recent years. |

The facts are there - KC has paid more in the draft over the past few years than anyone. But please continue, the "Glass is a greedy fool" stuff never gets old, even when it is completely irrelevent to the topic at hand. |
SOS to the DL
Chavez up from Omaha Adcock to the starter spot. |

I would argue there's nothing "mild" about it, but still ... LMAO |
Rany was tweeting about SOS being historically bad, so the writing was definitely on the wall, with neon ****ing letters.
