That is absolutely untrue.

God damnit, when is Bryce going to commit to KSU?

I was up there for the Frank Martin Father/Son basketball camp a couple of weeks ago and all the players were around and very upbeat. We watched them play against each other during an open gym session, and Russell seemed perfectly content.

Both Arthur and Bryce will be in Manhattan in July.

good to hear, most of what I'd read earlier in the year made it sound like he was unhappy

K-State has a couple of wealthy alums in Conn. who own investment firms (this is true, one of not both are on the Foundation President's Club), one of them knew the Lawrence family from when he was baby, so the alum is considered a friend of the family and will be paying Omari's way his first year at K-State.

That's how they're getting around the whole scholarship issue.

Don't sweat it, he's not going anywhere (I hope). Supposedly his latest tweet was lyric from a Drake song....

Meh. I like him, but he hasn't improved that much over his 3 year career. If his ceiling is Akeem Wright, we can afford to lose him.

I agree with the lack of improvement comment, but I think he brings a level of toughness to this team that others don't.

ChiTown 07-02-2010 08:51 AM

I think the issue is that he's not going to be as good of an option as Samuels would be at the 3 spot.

1 Pullen
2 McGruder
3 Samuels
4 Kelly
5 Judge

By the way, our post game is going to be fun watching Judge, Kelly, Asprilla, JHO. Where we lack is that 3 spot. If Dom does depart, we are really going to need to see some minutes with Southwell.

ChiTown 07-02-2010 09:09 AM

BTW, I think it will be official very soon that Dom is transferring

well, this sucks. His growth was disappointing but seeing a 3 year starter leave is disappointing.

Dante84 07-02-2010 10:05 AM

We will miss his def. and speed.

I wont miss his fear of taking wide open threes.

KSU Sports Information

Senior forward Dominique Sutton has been released from his athletic scholarship at Kansas State and will transfer to another institution, head men's basketball coach Frank Martin announced on Friday.

"Dominique has expressed to me his desire to finish his college career closer to home in North Carolina where he has two small children," said Martin. "We appreciate his contributions to the program over the past three years and wish him nothing but the best in the future."

A 6-foot-5, 218-pound senior from Durham, N.C., Sutton averaged 7.2 points on 47.7 percent shooting this past season with 5.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.2 steals in 24.0 minutes per game. He saw action in all 37 games with 36 starts in helping the Wildcats to the Elite Eight for the first time since 1988. He played in 90 games in his three-year career with 76 starts, averaging 6.5 points on 48.5 percent shooting with 4.9 rebounds per game.

Sutton is on track to graduate and leaves K-State in solid academic standing.
