It was that !@#$ing blatant.

It was a baaaaaaaad penalty. You're not going to block up a damn kick return when you were on onside kick coverage anyway. And the ball was only kicked to about the 12 yard line. Just let the dude catch it, run it to the 22 and get tackled.

It was just so stupid. And it altered the entire drive, IMO.

It definitely did

I don’t think they’ve ever recovered from the Kareem thing.

Interesting thought. I've already kind of forgotten about Kareem, but maybe there's a hangover.

You'd hope that Berry coming back would offset it, but who knows? Kareem was probably a huge reminder that every player is one aggressive barfly away from being banned, and that's scary.

Once I realized he wasn't playing anymore, I looked for him to see if there was a limp, a face in agony, a whence when he walked, I saw none of it.

I'm still shocked he didn't override whomever told him not to go in, trot on the field, and tell Parker or Sorenson to take a break. And I pray it wasn't his call. I'd at least expect a limp or a face showing pain, to think he would make such a decision.

Well it's all over now. As usual, we're debating what we'll never know the next day, and the team has sealed the shell.

We are Chiefs Kingdoomed. :) If we're not used to it by now, "it" being some wheel falling off the fun wagon before it gets to the promise land, we need to get used to it.

Keep his ass on the bike in the 2nd.

I think that's one of Andy's notes after reviewing the tape. He's going to phase that idea in around the March timeframe.

You know the Pats have a program to help use that soften other teams! They play the games within the game like no other, work every angle that can be worked, so you KNOW the Pats are working that angle as I type. They know have no ethics when it comes to winning!

That’s right, Chiefs Kingdom is enraged and rightfully so, following the 29-28 loss to the Chargers on Thursday. Tweets, Facebook posts, even online petitions, all calling for Sutton’s job after the Chiefs blew a 14-point lead with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter. So, for the first time all season, we are finally raising The Hot Seat meter all the way to the PANTS ON FIRE level."

This is funny. Reid loves him some Sutton, so he's not going anywhere.

I just keep watching that clip of Eric Berry berating Orlando Scandrick.

These are two roughly 30 year old men, no? Scandrick is maybe a year or two older than Berry.

I have never seen another adult male just ****ing savagely berate someone like that. I mean that's what, essentially 10 solid seconds of forcefully asking him what the **** he's doing?

I mean how lord, how pissed do you think Eric Berry had to be for it to come to that?

I still can't get over how much different the defense looked the moment he left the field. 7 points in the first half against that Chargers team is genuinely good. 22 in the 2nd half is...not.

He can't really be that critical, can he?

In the leadership/defensive QB role? Abso-****in'-lutely.

We've let leadership and accountability on that side of the ball slide to the point that there is no coming back under our current defensive regime. 5 EB's couldn't fix Bob and his staff, nor the level of brain-deficient player we are currently employing.

That's the part that bothers me. It seems odd. Again, it strikes me as a playing not to lose strategy. Andy didn't seem to consider that SD might make this an actual game at the end.

petegz28 12-14-2018 01:42 PM

When Berry was asked why he didn't play in the second half all he would say was "we had a plan and we stuck to it" and "that's between me and the coaches"...

He has owned some major collapses. It’s amazing this dude is protected the way he is.

Quit giving the players slack guys. Justin Houston said that he made a play last week bc Justin Hamilton called him out.

That screams to me “I got paid and don’t care as much anymore.”

No wonder Chris Jones and Dee Ford are balling. They’re trying to get paid.

I do think there is a lot of truth to it. Past two years I see Houston picking his spots quite a lot.
