The next generation of fans (the ones who are a big part of what is filling up Kauffman and giving FSKC record ratings), did not grow up watching George Brett.

Losing Gordo would be an undeniable blow to the city and fanbase.

Yep. Zobrist and Gordon resigning would be huge. You platoon Dyson/Infante with Zobrist and you'll have 162 games of positive WAR at RF and 2nd in 2016.

Dyson is a tremendous every day asset against RHP. He could steal 60-80 bags without issue. He can turn a walk, fielders choice or base hit into a triple. That's just a huge asset to have as a #9 hitter and he plays good OF defense.

Infante has a 3 years split of .281/.310/.458 against LHP, which makes him quite the commodity against LHP at 2nd base combined with his above average defense.

And Zobrist rakes no matter what and plays competent defense at both 2nd and RF.

It just makes SO much sense.

Rios should be the every day RF the way he's hit the ball in July. I'm curious to see him for 3 weeks to see if he can keep it up.

Andy seems to think it's a foregone conclusion and Gordo has been much more cryptic about it than he was in 2014.

I'm not sure what else could really be happening at this point. Team needs to make an offer, and they likely haven't done that.
