They want $285 to replace the water pump. Legit?

I was pretty sure that was it, you can see the belt jumping coming off it |
could be an excess build up of estrogen in the valves or lifters.

I figured that would get you going. No worries, I was just giving you good natured grief / piling on. I drive a Jetta FFS. lol. a Jetta i bought for $6700 and 8 years old at that. and before that car, I had a Rabbit since 2010. So I'm they same way - get me a car to get where I need to go for relatively cheap and reliable. motorcycles, on the other hand......I have a sickness. |
lol two other places quoted me $400
guess I'm out $285 |

I don't post a lot here but FWIW I had an 03 Liberty and went through the same thing winter before last and it ended up being the water pump. On a side note just totaled it last month and ended up with a new Cherokee Trailhawk

It's literally take off the belt, pull the tensioner assembly bolt, take off eight bolts, pull the pump, reinstall. Pull the vent plug and fill with antifreeze. |

Better $285 now than $3000 later.
I wonder if it was causing any performance issues. It hasn't been overheating but I'm sure it was leaking for awhile. |

I drive a 4x4 because it's a 4x4. That's literally the only thing that matters to me. There was no reason to look for something else once I found a 4x4 at my price point. It gets the ****ing job done. Who gives a **** what it looks like. Get the **** over yourself. |
Excuse me, you ****ing inbred hillbilly neanderthals, for not googling "how much bigger does a Jeep Liberty make my dick" before buying.
