Naw man, Bravos got closer talent. But, they'll be one and done, no doubt about it. Not even sure why they play.

Well it was fun while it lasted. If we had just an average bullpen we would have won another 10 games this year. Be in first place and thats without Waino and losing Freese, Craig and Holliday for lengthy periods.

no fat lady singing, have you all not watched the Braves play this last month and a half? It's been fugly, their future personality(even this year) almost entirely depends on Bourn's OBP. The Braves' dynamic changes completely when he's on base.

We'll see, two apparent bedwetters racing to the post-season. I think this time tomorrow we'll know which way this thing is going to go. Actually, it STILL should be interesting.

Game 2 Bravos at Nats, coming up after cmmrcl.

Well, the Cubs outsucked the Cards today - Marmol pulled a Franklin and gave the game away in the bottom of the 9th. Looks like we'll be back within two with four to play.

But I don't hold out much hope at this point.

I didn't expect the Cardinals to play so poorly!

Now they have four games left, and they have to win at least three of them to even have a chance!

Frazod 09-24-2011 04:11 PM

Thursday's disaster seemed to have ruined them. They've only scored three runs since.

Never underestimate the power of emotion and momentum in allowing teams to either win or lose games. This kind of win makes them believe that "magic" is happening.

I'm not worried about our offense. Teams have a bad day or two. The bullpen is our issue, just like it has been all year.

Lohshe? WTF? Whats got into him?

He has always had the stuff to be a top 2 or 3 on a staff, but the margin to slip to a sucky 5th or 6th is a pretty fine line. Mentally he is on his game right now. I think he has felt his back against the wall and has responded well.

Frazod 09-25-2011 03:19 PM

Cards win, Braves lose. One game out with three to play.

veist 09-26-2011 02:27 PM

Yeah Lohse is a bit of a headcase but it seems like he's physically healthy finally this year which hasn't been the case for a while. Guess that compartment syndrome thing with his arm must have been a pretty big deal.

I wonder how this will play out. Philly has nothing to play for and has been mailing it in since they locked everything up. The Asstros are putrid, but they hate us and would like nothing better than to ruin our season. Braves seem totally shell shocked, Cards still not back on track after Thursday but eeked by the shitty Cubs to take two of three.

I would venture Philly wants to close out strong to get geared up for the PO's.

Houston is done but young players trying to make the club for next season can be dangerous.

Should be interesting. I am betting Braves lose 2, and Cards lose 1 giving us a tie. Cards then lose the tie break game.

My wife is a Braves fan. She is extremely annoyed with them right now and somehow it's all my fault.

If it does come down to a playoff game and the Cards win, I probably won't get laid again for a couple of weeks. :D

Pasta Little Brioni 09-26-2011 06:37 PM

Braves, jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but now it's tied.

6up, 6 down for Garcia.
