Also just saw that the Chiefs are interviewing the Bears ST coordinator, Dave Toub, which would be a GREAT hire IMO.

God I hope so....our ST have been dog shit since DV

Tommy Brasher is an American football coach who currently serves as the Philadelphia Eagles' defensive line coach.[1] He coached the Eagles line in 1985, then moved on to the Atlanta Falcons until 1989. After this he went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to coach for 1 year in 1990. He coached the Seattle Seahawks Defensive line from 1992-1998. Then he went back to the Philadelphia Eagles from 1999, until 2005, when he retired.[2] In 2001 he was awarded the Eagles Ed Block Courage Award. He came out of retirement in 2012 to rejoin the Eagles after the firing of Jim Washburn and is currently serving as the defensive line coach.

Say goodbye to any thought of us running an aggressive, attacking defensive scheme.

That's what this hire represents.

The rumors about Kiffin ...and now a "read and react" guy is hired to coach the DL before we have a DC in place.

mcaj22 01-10-2013 05:51 PM

this guy is literally 300 years old

like he might die on the field as horrible is that is to say

Considering he has been an Defensive Line coach his whole career, she probably got the offensive part wrong, but this might be our new Defensive Line coach.

EDIT: The reason she was talking to him required her to confirm his ID. I can't really say anything more than that. (It wasn't exactly legal for her to tell me this)

My Fiance had the inside scoop the whole time.

mcaj22 01-10-2013 05:53 PM

yea confirm his ID because it was probably issued in 1942 when he was 30 years old

I have had it with "bend but don't break" defenses. They can keep that read and react bullshit. Give me a coach that wants to attack on BOTH sides of the ball. Hell, give me a coach that wants to attack on special teams. Football is about enforcing your will on the other team, is it not? Well, go out and ****ing well enforce some will.

Brasher's read-and-react system is different than Washburn's wide-nine, get-after-the-quarterback system, and he acknowledged that the players will have to adjust. And when asked if Cox, who was one of Washburn's projects, could learn his system quickly, Brasher nodded.

“He's a big, quick guy,” Brasher said. “He could play 3-4. He could play the scheme I'm teaching. He could play the scheme anyone teaches.”
Nice knowing ya, Powe.
