I can't think of any NFL news ever hitting me as hard as this. I know that's crazy and maybe sad, but it really did and i wish it hadn't.

Im not about to give up on the season because our running back is gone though ffs. These kind of things can galvanize a group as much as anything. In all seriousness, this feels worse because of the precise timing and the path dependency. If this happened last season around the same time, it would’ve been unfortunate, but it feels so much worse now because we’ve been watching and imagining the game most prolific offense in history and suddenly it just became less potent. This is also coming after a difficult loss to the Rams, a bye week which has seemed like a month, and as we get into a game against the Raiders which really only has downside for us sentiment-wise.

If we were playing the Chargers today, or we had beaten the Rams, or Alex Smith were our QB, I think this would be easier to take. So? Give it time. Just like any girl who has ever broken your heart, she’ll eventually fade from memory and life will go on.
