31 Points and 32 first downs and 433 yards. It's hard to find evidence that we missed Priest. Not taking anything away from Priest, but it's clear to me that Trent has been this team's MVP the last two years.
I'm fine with Priest starting next year. I'm fine with starting LJ next year. What we should do depends on trade value and salary cap considerations. If we could get a 1st rounder for either one, I'd take it. |

Granted, LJ didn't dominate but he did make a statement, IMO. This was a hard played game by both teams. Let's give the Raider D some credit. Their front line played extremely well. They were in the backfield numerous times blowing up both running and passing plays. IMO, they gave our O-line all they could handle. Oakland had four sacks and two turnovers against the passing game even though it was obvious, IMO, that they were dedicated to stopping the run first. They blew up a lot running plays in the backfield or at the line of scrimmage.
Johnson ran hard all night. The Raiders made him earn every single yard. I thought he looked very good on both TD runs. To me, he showed that he is also a tough character with quite a competive streak. I saw no sign that he is in anyway intimidated by a tough hard-hitting game like those that exemplify the Chiefs/Raiders rivalry. He just keeps pounding away. I was most disappointed in the 3.2 yard average because that is out of character for him, however, this is the NFL. But most backs would be happy with a 79 yard, 2 TD day. IMO, LJ showed us another dimension tonight that should make us all feel more comfortable with the possibility of his taking over whenever that happens. |

Not gonna read the whole thread...
LJ hella good, but Priest > LJ. BTW, Priest dreams of being Scanlon. |
I like having the Barry Word type RB again. I don't mind having both of them.

I agree, we have the best 1-2 RB punch in the NFL. Its nice having that after the 90's when we didn't even have a running back, other than Jesse Haynes.
|
LJ still had a pretty good game. He is still learning, I am just glad we know what we got finishing this season, rather then a huge question mark.

The nice thing is that many of them are proving their worth and we are still winning football games. The aura that's beginning to surround this team is a refreshing one. |

I guess I'm still at a loss as to why there are so many people down on Priest. To be honest it kinda irritates me a bit. Priest may lack the downfield burst, but he provides a whole other level when the chips are down. If Priest had been on the field yesterday, we wouldn't have turned the ball over on a 4th and inches - guaranteed.
We have THE best RB in the NFL and we can't wait to move him out for a kid that still has a lot to learn. Something's wrong with that picture. |
First of all, let's clarify that only a select few morons wanted to trade Holmes in the first place. Anyone that wants to trade away the most prolific scorer in the NFL is definately a moron. I think a large faction of Planeteers simply have agreed that we can afford to lose Blaylock.
Secondly, I'll agree that LJ doesn't seem to have the field vision yet. I'm willing to be patient and think that will come with more experience. before this game, he hasn't been required to find holes because the o-line played so well. Finally, the O-line played like a bunch of bums today. They must have had too much turkey in the morning. They were getting blown back all day, provided little running room for LJ, and in the second half gave Green no protection. I normally worship these guys, but they didn't show up for a big rivalry game. |

LJ i believe could play a huge role next year in giving priest the needed rest, so we can save him. Esp when we are trying to lock away a game he could be huge in burning the clock and not getting priest too banged up. Obviously we want priest in there for most of the money plays! I think LJ will get like 10 carries a game next season. Priest is too good but atleast he wont need to literrally carry the whole team on his back. LJ will def. play a big part in keeping him healthy.
