Have you ever played ESPN NFL 2K5? I haven't played Madden nearly as extensively as 2K5, but that's because IMO it was much superior in all aspects of the game.

I played 2K5 long enough to realize that the franchise mode is HORRIBLY flawed.

The Colts cut Peyton Manning in week 6 because he had a 4-week injury.

ROFL Come on, it could happen. That's only a 33 million dollar cap hit.

And I won't even get into the draft...

Hah, that's pretty bad. I've never seen anything that blatantly stupid in my experience with the game.

My favorite is the Alex Karras bit... the former NFL player who was the dad on "Webster". Doesn't anyone else think Dan Dierdorf when they see him? I always did. I remember the first time I saw Dan Dierdorf broadcast when I was younger I thought it was the dad off Webster.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think this is gonna kick ass.

I've played every Madden since '01 and have seen noticable improvement each year. I love the franchise mode and the gameplay.

The one area in which ESPN has beaten EA is presentation. With EA gameplay and ESPN presentation, Madden 2007 is gonna be the most awesome football video game EVAR.

Man, I wish they released a competitor for football on the PC. I'm getting tired of all the shit they take out of the console versions to port Madden to the PC.

i had the computer draft and the chiefs drafted 3 TE in a row. How unrealistic is that!

ESPN College Hoops 2k5 > ALL of EA's offerings.

This is what pisses me off more than anything. They've destroyed the best US sports game that came out in 2004, and raped it for good measure.

I'm not a big franchise freak, I pick the chiefs and start dominating for a few seasons, get bored. Eventually rinse and repeat. The new franchise mode is so freaking deep as far as getting your team ready is so overwhelming, I just skip the whole process. My roommate has Madden and I've played it, but the graphics/run game/and overall gameplay didn't do it for me. The only better thing immediately noticable in Madden is that you don't have to click to run faster.
