Buchanan certainly didn't. But he is the only one that comes to my mind at the moment.

about as much as rookie wide receivers, i guess

around 4 interceptions i would think.

a good one would kick bartee to the curb and wouldn't be a gaping hole in the defense.

If we draft a CB, and Bartee or McPasson get released as a result, that is what I would call impact.

Of course, it's not the kind of impact you were asking about.

Any CB that plays for the Chiefs, rookie or otherwise, that actually looks like an NFL CB would have an impact on this D.

Again, I understand, and the gist is funny.

However, my point is unless they are superior as a CB and we draft them without picking up another CB, that says to me we have already written off this coming season.

The kind of rookie impact that you are asking about is rare, but the 49ers went to and won their first SB with 3 rookies in their secondary in the 80s.

My point exactly. I thought, but wasn't sure, that a first round CB just doesn't change the game that much in the first year. So my thinking is that if we draft a CB in the first round and don't pick up an agent CB, the office is of three mindsets:

1. We appeased the fans who buy tickets with this draft choice and don't give a damn if we win or lose

2. We don't need help in the secondary this year

3. We need help, but other things are so important we are writing this year off

I honestly and truly don't believe it is the first option

I'd still rather have Rogers or Rolle though.
