I can honestly say I didn't know any of the girls by name. They all looked pretty damn good.

you guys are bringing back some mighty powerful nostalgia from my childhood....sunday night was the one time my folks didn't think there was something better to do than watch tv....football during the day was a "waste of time"

HeeHaw, Maverick, and The Grand Ol' Opry...

Saturday nights were The Muppets(for us kids), Hee Haw and Airwolf.

They just don't make TV shows like they used to..................

mi,

While the saturday selection was classic, I think you forget about the star studded and intellectually stimulating friday nights...dukes, dallas, and i can't remember the other one....oooohhhhh Daisey

Sorry dude. I'm only 27. Gunsmoke was long gone by the time I started watching TV.

egonzo 12-28-2000 04:25 PM

Don Kirshner's Rock Concert and The Midnight Special with Wolfman Jack...

TEX 12-28-2000 04:26 PM

Kenny Rogers married one of the Hee Haw girls...

Baby Lee 12-28-2000 04:29 PM

Yeah, i've seen those shows in syndication, but they were well past their popularity. I do have to admit: I remember when Little house on the prairie, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, etc. were popular shows.

That makes me feel old.

Baby Lee 12-28-2000 04:34 PM

Speaking of The Love Boat, wasn't Gopher a congressman/senator from........[b]IOWA!</B>

Hey AustinChief,

Not only was Jane Wyman from St. Joseph, but she and Ronald Reagan were married (divorced in 1948). [Not that I ever watched Falcon Crest for more than the time it took to change the channel!] Walter Cronkite was also born in St. Joseph, if I'm not mistaken.
