I can honestly say I didn't know any of the girls by name. They all looked pretty damn good.

you guys are bringing back some mighty powerful nostalgia from my childhood....sunday night was the one time my folks didn't think there was something better to do than watch tv....football during the day was a "waste of time"
HeeHaw, Maverick, and The Grand Ol' Opry... ------------------ "Anyone who wouldn't cheat for a poke, doesn't want one bad enough."[i] Augustus McCray</I> |
Saturday nights were The Muppets(for us kids), Hee Haw and Airwolf.
They just don't make TV shows like they used to.................. |
mi,
While the saturday selection was classic, I think you forget about the star studded and intellectually stimulating friday nights...dukes, dallas, and i can't remember the other one....oooohhhhh Daisey  ------------------ "Anyone who wouldn't cheat for a poke, doesn't want one bad enough."[i] Augustus McCray</I> |
Falcon Crest, of course! AAAAHHHHHHH, the Dukes of Hazard & Dallas.
Pardon me. I'm getting a little verclempt(as Mike Myers would say). All this reminiscing about my redneck childhood. |
Gunsmoke...I remember the Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights.
Does anyone remember Bowling for Dollars? |
Falcon Crest!!!
Do you guys remember Jane Wyman? She was from ST. Joseph!! --Kyle |
of course...gun smoke and Big Valley....
I remember when we went to my grandparents watching friday night fights(my grandfather had reasons, but we can deal with that another day) and Friday Fright Night...the old Frankestien, dracula, etc....now there is just soooo much crap on... ------------------ "Anyone who wouldn't cheat for a poke, doesn't want one bad enough."[i] Augustus McCray</I> |
Sorry dude. I'm only 27. Gunsmoke was long gone by the time I started watching TV.

Don Kirshner's Rock Concert and The Midnight Special with Wolfman Jack...

mi,
i'm 27 too, and i remember gunsmoke and even the b/w original little rascals when i was little.... I never thought I'd see the day when I was saying things like "back in the day, or when i was a kid"....i'm starting to say the stuff my dad did, that I swore I wouldn't....you parents definitely smarter than kids give you credit.... ------------------ "Anyone who wouldn't cheat for a poke, doesn't want one bad enough."[i] Augustus McCray</I> |
Kenny Rogers married one of the Hee Haw girls...
|
Yeah, i've seen those shows in syndication, but they were well past their popularity. I do have to admit: I remember when Little house on the prairie, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, etc. were popular shows.
That makes me feel old. |
Speaking of The Love Boat, wasn't Gopher a congressman/senator from........[b]IOWA!</B>

Hey AustinChief,
Not only was Jane Wyman from St. Joseph, but she and Ronald Reagan were married (divorced in 1948). [Not that I ever watched Falcon Crest for more than the time it took to change the channel!] Walter Cronkite was also born in St. Joseph, if I'm not mistaken. http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/B...734/jwyman.htm [This message has been edited by DanT (edited 12-28-2000).] |
