Chiefs kicker is suspect in bar fight
BRIEFING: HUDSON, WIS.
River Falls police are investigating an altercation Sunday morning at a downtown bar involving Lawrence J. Tynes, kicker with the Kansas City Chiefs.
According to the department's records, 27-year-old Tynes is a suspect in a battery that took place at Boomer's Bar on Elm Street at about 1 a.m. Sunday. River Falls authorities declined Tuesday to release details on the episode.
Chiefs representative Bob Moore said that nothing happened Sunday morning that warrants an official comment. "It's my understanding that there were no arrests involved," he said.
Ted Roughton, owner of Boomer's Bar, would not talk about Sunday morning's events but did say that players and fans often mingle in his tavern.
In a separate incident, two other Chiefs players, Saou-saolii Siavii Jr. and Gregory Wesley, were arrested the same morning on suspicion of disorderly conduct in a Minneapolis hotel. Siavii, a defensive tackle, and Wesley, a safety, were taken to the Hennepin County jail and released later Sunday.
The Chiefs are in River Falls for their 15th annual training camp, held at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
