Years of no playoffs with high expectations and raising the prices on seats, then toss in all the Sprint layoff's and layoff's in the city in general and bam, no waiting list.
Plus since they do still barely sell out, people can be cheap and stay home and watch it on TV. |

I spent 1997 -1998 up in the upper deck, in the corner of the end zone about 5 rows from the top. 1999 - 2004 was on the 50 yard line but 3 rows from the top of the stadium in the upper deck. 2005 Now I'm in the lower bowl over by the tunnel one section over not to far from Weirdwolf, FDE etc. 2006 I expect to get the oppertunity to improve again. Why is the demand not the same? Performance - 12 years without a playoff win. Underperforming teams. Price - I pay $2,200 for three tickets. Before you factor in parking, beer and tailgating supplies. As mentioned before with the Sprint layoffs and the economy being down Chief tickets are a non essential purchase to a family. Luckily I'm in a good enough financial position to keep purchasing the tickets. But are there 72,000 more of us next year? Why are there still 79,000 at games? It's a social event in KC. Kudos to the marketing genius of King Carl. Tailgating at arrowhead is a wonderful experience. People still love their Chiefs despite their record in the playoffs. It's KC, What else is there to do thats as much fun? I expect them to sell out again next year but the year after that who knows? Maybe we will see black outs again here in KC during the rebuilding process.:hmmm: |

hehe ya, that was my experience the last time I sat in Club. Bunch of geriatrics telling us to sit down. |
Stand and yell in Section 122. pretty much whole game.
People that bitch dont last long there. :banghead: :cuss: They are the one gamers lucky to get tickets down there, not sure why everyone stands. :) |
It's simple.
Year after year of raising prices during an economic boom followed by an economic downturn. Who has the money to pay the big prices now that the economy is down and energy prices are soaring? |
All good points BRC.
I love going to Chiefs games but I am not a season ticket holder because I am too cheap to buy them. Plus honestly now that have Sunday Ticket, I like to plop down on the couch stuffing my face with food and channel surf all of the games. |

While I agree the pricing is out of control I think they'd still be selling like hotcakes if there was any hope in the team's ability to succeed. However I think there are only two ways to get the fans here to be hopeful. Replace CP or win the Super Bowl. I don't see #2 happening until #1 does. |

Then toss in FF and people want to see how all their players are doing, and see if they are winning in real time... |
Many people have realized that the "King" has no clothes. People are tired of Carl Peterson's act and are not willing to pay for his circus anymore. The window of opportunity for the team we have today is about to slam shut, and we have Peterson to thank for not getting the job done when he had the opportunity. He' gotten fat off of the ticketholders, and not given a winner in return.

I need cable for my broadband connection and I'm too cheap to pay for a satellite dish and set up just to get the NFL Sunday ticket. But if we had made a Super Bowl in 95 or 97 like we should have there probably would still be the waiting list. |
