The Big 12 is going to look different this year. That is, compared to just a few years ago.

I'm not expecting great things out of Missouri by any means, but I don't really know what to expect. Nowhere to go but up, for sure.

KU is the Mecca of college basketball.

It will be a battle between Shannon Collins and Kevin Durant for Big12 Frosh of Year.

Brandon Rush wins Big12 player of the year.

Bill Self wins Big12 coach of the year.

3 KU starters will be on the All Big12 first team (Rush, Chalmers, Wright).

KU runs wild thru the Big12, going undefeated and winning the conference and conference tourney.

KU also beats Florida.

KU will be ranked #1 all season

KU gets a #1 seed in the tourney and wins the NCAA Championship.

Oh yeah KU goes undefeated all season for the first time since Knight's Hoosiers.

I am a KU fan, but some of that stuff is nonsense. And you are wrong, Darrell Arthur will be Freshman of the Year.

Agree completely. Send us the trophy and cancel the season.

KU: Giles out for semester

I suppose Giles will be back around the same time Kaun is. The semester only lasts another 5-6 weeks (including finals) and that's about the same point they're expecting Sasha to return. The banishment could probably have been a lot worse for Giles. At this rate, he'll get to be involved in a few December games and then the entire 2007 portion of the season as well.

He will be allowed to practice with the team, but he will not play in a game this semester. This penalty is appropriate for the lack of responsibility he has shown to his coaches, teammates and the Kansas basketball family.

"In the meantime, we will continue to monitor his progress. I will not comment further on C.J.'s status until after the first semester."

"I apologize to my coaches and teammates for my actions," Giles said. "I understand why I have been suspended. I know I have to improve myself as a person - for my own good and for the good of the team."

Wow! Self must be a nice guy. Why CJ Giles, in just two weeks, has met all his obligations. Wonder who loaned him the 4k for child support?

I mean two weeks. That's integrity, baby.

I gave him the money. It's ok, he said he'd shave points to pay me back. Rock Chalk!

My early take on the KU season:

KU will get creamed by Florida

KU will beat BC at home

KU wins Big XII title outright.

KU loses Big XII tourney to A&M

KU finishes conference season with 3 losses

KU finishes around #5 in the polls (give or take 2 spots)

Brandon Rush doesn't live up to the hype this year.

Darrell Arthur does live up to the hype.

Russell Robinson loses his starting job to Sherron Collins before the end of the year.

Another KU player will transfer or be dismissed from the team before the end of the year.

KU earns a #2 seed in a favorable region

KU gets out of the first round!!!!!!!!!

KU makes it as far as the Elite 8.
