I like the move, should have done it sooner imo. They aren't winning with Jake @ QB and that team isn't all that good anyway. They have very good LBers, decent safeties, one great CB, and a good WR. Everything else is below average.

Cutler is no Marino

I am surprised it took so long.

Not really a bad move. Jake has been completely exposed as a journeyman QB who cannot win games without a strong running game to take the burden. During the last four games he has played no better than a rookie. Denver has a long week to try to get the rookie ready to go. None of the remaining teams Denver faces has an intimidating defense.

Cutler is to Marino like Griffen is to Barry Sanders...which is amazing!

Bad news for the rest of the AFC West. I remember how much better Denver's offense was when they had Griese. I don't know how good Cutler will be, but he'll be better than Plummer.
As much as I don't like Shanahan, it is testament to his offensive mind that he was able to make Jake effective with his smoke-and-mirrors for as long as he was... Plummer is a gimmick quarterback just like Kordell Stewart was for the one or two good years he had. If everything goes just right, and the defense is always kept guessing, the QB can look good...when the defense starts catching on to the gimmicks, it's all over. |
The nice thing is that they were obviously scared of the Chiefs defense and wanted to wait until that game was over before they brought the newbie in. It's a show of respect.

I hope Jake goes to a team that I can root for, I liked watching him play in AZ.
I think we would have beat Denver even more if Cutler was in at QB vs us, Jake avoided a number of sacks that would have just killed drives, they have to fix their OLine problems. |
