I didn't know the man personally. I don't pretend to be any more busted up about his death than I would be about the death of any other person who's accomplishments I'm familiar with. It wouldn't be healthy for me to be as emotionally tied to this as some others are.

I'm glad he's not suffering, but mainly because I've recently lost two close relatives in the same way and I know how difficult it was for them and how much pain they were in.

As for the "delete this thread" responses: Get over yourself.

All you have to do is recognize the influence he's had on your life.
