I think they should rename it to BWillie007 & Lamar Hunt Stadium, and erect both of our statues outside. O ya, I'd also like a mural of me painted at midfield. But then again, maybe I'm just vain.

Seriously, what a great man.

I am glad they didn't try to build a new stadium. Too much nostalgia there and keeping the name is rare in today's ultra promote anything and everything.

Thanks Lamar.

FC Dallas fans have been talking about the field at Pizza Hut Park being named after him, too. Before it was built, it was nicknamed "Uncle Lamar's House of Whoopass."

Hmmmmm, "Uncle Lamar's House of Whoopass at Arrowhead Stadium" has a nice ring to it. We need to jump on that before the Pizza Hut guys make their name change official.

Lamar Hunt Field @ Arrowhead

or

rename Truman Sports Complex to Lamar Hunt Sports Complex.

The word here in Frisco is that they are going to erect a statue of Lamar and put it in Pizza Hut Park. I'm loving this as my son will be playing in this stadium when he's in high school in a few years.

That would be fine, as long as they put

"The Oldest Stadium in the NFL without a Championship"

underneath it.

Funerals, wakes are more about the people left behind to deal with a loss. This kind of stuff(naming stadiums, highways etc after the deceased) is because we may feel guilty or want to feel better about ourselfs by honoring a person we didn't know but mase our life better.

For us that live in KC can you imagine a KC without the Chiefs, Worlds of Fun and White Water?

It is. Corporate sponsorship at its' finest. ;) I cracked up when I found out that there was a Dr. Pepper Victory Center. What's next? The 7-up consolation area? ;)

FWIW, it's a very nice park. They used it for the high school football playoff games this year and it's a very nice facility. Plus, it's only 5 minutes from home. :D
