Yes --- I'd take him... He's got 3 maybe 4 years left if he can stay healthy... We need someone with a fricking attitude on this team...

we've tried everything else...might as well. He's light years better than anyone we have at dt..

Only if he's cheap.

I think he'd take a pay cut just to get out of Oakland... He's not happy at all --- and I'll make this my New Year prediction --- SAPP WILL NOT be a Raider next year...

I don't know where he'll be --- but it won't be in a Raider uniform...

Interior defensive linemen don't play at a high level until they're 38 or 39.

He's got one, maybe two years left, if that.

He'd be just another in a long line of short term solutions to long term problems.

And that, again, is why this team has been stuck in this same hole for years.

We don't need Sapp, we already have a Sapp on this team. Besides, we have James Reed.

Oh heck I totally agree... If we can get someone that can get right in there like Hali -- I'm all for getting someone in the draft...

Your right though -- we just seem to step back to the oldtimers... Hopefully Clark won't allow Carl to sign anymore grandpa's of the NFL...

A couple of notes of interest, or at least of polite nodding non-interest.

1. Sapp went over and talked to Herm at least twice during the game. Did anyone else have flashbacks of Chester McGlockton talking to Marty about 10 years ago during a game and asking Marty to sign him?

2. The Raiders have three chunky defensive tackles: Sapp, Sands, and Tommy Kelly. While I like Casey Wiegman's mobility, those three guys alternated pushing Casey into the backfield on almost every play. He simply can't hold up against a big fat guy who can push.

I doubt that Clark gets involved in personnel decisions.

James Reed is horrible. Edwards is ok, but Reed is not good.

Tell that to Ted Washington.

Ted Washington is just a big body that's hard to push around, who isn't really much of a pass rusher.

Sapp's game relies on athleticism and quickness.
