Hopefully the NFL will listen to him. We could nab Branch. :D

Chiefnj 03-12-2007 12:38 PM

The charts show why it is so difficult to draft a WR in the 1st.

Kiper's rankings of 2-5 are Jarret, Bowe, Smith and then Ginn.
Scouts Inc has Ginn, Bowe, Jarret and Smith isn't even in the top 30.

CupidStunt 03-12-2007 01:11 PM

I go with Mayock, although our opinions differ on the WRs. I wouldn't listen to and trust Kiper's view if ya paid me. Whatever he says means nothing to me.

Wait so we take a 2nd center over a top 10 DT?

Damnit Carl!! :cuss:

Vic Ketchman's value board. He's a writer for the Jags website. He's pretty good. I'm putting here because last year he was one of the few guys who gave Tamba respect and had Hali in the top 15. He has McDonald and Ryan Harris higher than just about everyone else, and the two QB's a lot lower than everyone else.

1. Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
Sensational running skills.
2. Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech
Big, fast, athletic, smart.
3. Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin
Best of the big guys.
4. Alan Branch, DT, Michigan
Dominant force inside.
5. Levi Brown, OT, Penn State
Light-footed pass-blocker.
6. Adam Carriker, DE, Nebraska
Disruptive and relentless.
7. Reggie Nelson, S, Florida
Best athlete in this draft.
8. Jarvis Moss, DE, Florida
Showed in title game what he can be.
9. Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson
Good year for defensive ends.
10. Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville
You don't find linemen this bright and young.
11. Darrelle Revis, CB, Pitt
Top athlete ready for next level.
12. Laron Landry, S, LSU
Great size and speed.
13. Jamarcus Russell, QB, LSU
I'm not crazy about him but he's a QB.
14. Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame
Better on paper than in big games.
15. Paul Posluszny, LB, Penn State
The perfect football player.
16. Jamaal Anderson, DE, Arkansas
Get 'em while they're hot.
17. Ray McDonald, DT, Florida
Very underrated performer.
18. Leon Hall, CB, Michigan
In the Ty Law mold.
19. Aaron Ross, CB, Texas
Nice size for a corner.
20. Chris Houston, CB, Arkansas
Outstanding in coverage; just a little small.
21. Jon Beason, LB, Miami
Run and hit guy.
22. Lawrence Timmons, LB, Florida State
Run and hit guy, too.
23. Patrick Willis, LB, Ole Miss
Tackling machine.
24. Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina
Big-time risk/reward.
25. Ted Ginn, WR, Ohio State
Speed exceeds production.
26. Marshawn Lynch, RB, California
Fantastic production.
27. Ben Grubbs, G, Auburn
Classic road-grader.
28. Ryan Harris, OT, Notre Dame
Begins next wave of tackles.
29. Tony Hunt, RB, Penn State
Pounder with some wiggle and burst.
30. Joe Staley, OT, Central Michigan
Runs like a linebacker; true left tackle.
31. Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee
Big, fast guy on the outside.
32. Arron Sears, G/T, Tennessee
Physical and versatile.

Here was his board last year:
1. A.J. Hawk, LB, Ohio State—The one can't-miss who won't miss.

2. Reggie Bush, RB, USC—Superior athlete who must be used properly.

3. Matt Leinart, QB, USC—Poised pocket-passer who's ready to go.

4. Mario Williams, DE, N.C. State—Great measurables and upside.

5. Haloti Ngata, DT, Oregon—Best of the big guys.

6. Jay Cutler, QB, Vanderbilt—Pressure on Titans to pick home boy.

7. Tye Hill, CB, Clemson—Best of the coverage guys.

8. D'Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, Virginia—Big, athletic, but he's not Boselli.

9. Vernon Davis, TE, Maryland—Will provide immediate impact.

10. Michael Huff, S, Texas—Takes your breath away, at times.

11. Tamba Hali, DE, Penn State—The hardest-working player I have ever seen.

12. Chad Greenway, LB, Iowa—A true every-downs player.

13. DeAngelo Williams, RB, Memphis—Might be the next Barry Sanders.

14. Ernie Sims, LB, Florida State—Has a Ray Lewis quality to him.

15. Jimmy Williams, S, Virginia Tech—Big, rugged defender.

16. Mathias Kiwanuka, DE, Boston College—Top talent and character.

17. DeMeco Ryans, LB, Alabama—Underrated play-maker.

18. Manny Lawson, DE, N.C. State—Pass-rushers always at premium.

19. Broderick Bunkley, DT, Florida State—Gotta get the big guys.

20. Antonio Cromartie, CB, Florida State—Superior size, ability but ACL makes him a risk.

21. Ashton Youboty, CB, Ohio State—Run on cornerbacks begins.

22. Kelly Jennings, CB, Miami—Not special but a solid guy.

23. Chad Jackson, WR, Florida—Fix his head and you may have something special.

24. Santonio Holmes, WR, Ohio State—Groomed and ready to go.

25. Winston Justice, OT, USC—Dominant blocker with upside.

26. Laurence Maroney, RB, Minnesota—Productive, all-around back.

27. Thomas Howard, LB, UTEP—Disruptive run-and-hit play-maker.

28. LenDale White, RB, USC—Pounder and nothing more.

29. Marcus McNeill, OT, Auburn—Massive (6-9, 337) blocker.

30. Leonard Pope, TE, Georgia—Frankenstein with soft hands.

31. Sinorice Moss, WR, Miami—Speed tough to pass up.

32. Vince Young, QB, Texas—Great talent but not my kind of QB.
