ROYTT(FOTY) is for incoming freshman.

NOTY is for any player. It could be a freshman or a guy who transferred from JUCO or another D-1 institution.

He was our shutdown guy this year. Remember the dude @ISU who was going nuts from 3? Put Rush on him and he go bye bye. Rush is a stopper. That's just one example besides the job on Durant that jumps to mind, I'm sure there were others.

They dont necessarily choose players by a standard 5 man position team. Especially when it comes down to 3rd team and honorable mention selections.
