Wesley has struck me as one of the guys who is just playing for a paycheck.

Trade his ass and get younger and faster at that position.

Now....how on earth can Burntee still be on the roster?

jiveturkey 03-22-2007 09:29 AM

We'll need to use some picks on Safety depth now.

Goodbye Wesley, see you on the other side.

Don't we have to have some backups?!

William Bartee
Robb Butler

Sounds like a guy that's pissed over two rookies getting a bunch of play over their potential.

Wesley could create the turnover, but the times he disappered outweighed the positive play he had.

My most clear Wesley memory -

Playoff game vs. Indy in 2004. The Colts were driving, and were on the Chief's 12 or so yard line. They come out in three wide, with Brandon Stokley in the slot. Wesley lines up like it's man-to-man, then starts cheating inside. I'm sitting about 15 rows up in that end zone and can see that there is nobody back to help over the top. The whole row is screaming "GET ON STOKLEY!!!" The ball is snapped, Wesley floats around in the flat, and Brandon Stokley catches the easiest touchdown pass he will ever catch - playoffs or no. fucking brutal.

Not a big surprise. I always liked him, or at least hoped he'd grow into something, but he's 29 now, and that promise he's always had just didn't come to fruition. Hopefully we can get something for him; you should be able to sell his inteception numbers (25 in 5 years)...

Good riddance...

Wesley moment #2:

Trying to tackle Tiki Barber by breathing on him, 2005, Giants Stadium.

Good riddance, and as someone else stated, looks like we're in the market for some depth on Draft Day.

i was at that game. . vey embarrassing. .

I think Pollard and Page are going to be one of the best defensive backfields in the league within the next couple of seasons. It's a great balance, too: Pollard is a hard hitter and Page is a quick ballhawk.

Crush 03-22-2007 10:08 AM

Why are Hicks and Donut Boy still on the roster?

Iowanian 03-22-2007 10:13 AM

One thing Herm did pretty damn well in NY was find young safeties who could play ball.

I think its obvious that Page-Pollard are the starting tandem this coming year, and they'll bring in some depth via the later rounds of the draft or UFAs. Hopefully they'll find a real wombwrecker in the later rounds?

Whats that? I'm talking about a youngster who will blow down the field like a human tornado on Special teams and hit returners so hard, their mama's uterus hurts.

They barely put Hicks on the field last year....I think he'll be gone soon....but I'll bet they don't dump Sims until after the draft plays out.

Semi bold prediction. Bartee makes this team as a backup safety and special teams guy.

Wasn't it Page that was supposed to be a 1st day draft choice, there was a big question whether he would opt to play baseball over football?
