Gonzo's first year of a new contract
LJ's first year will be low -if new deal
they should have a lot of cap space

CoMoChief 05-01-2007 07:33 PM

We should trade Trent Green to Chicago for Benard Berrian.

Kylo Ren 05-01-2007 07:34 PM

.........so they'll lower the cost of parking and cut the cost of a coke in half, right?

I'd be all for it.... I just don't see it happening. Wishful thinking

Buehler445 05-01-2007 08:19 PM

Does anybody know what are cap numbers actually are? I think Gretz posted something sometime, but I can't remember.

The way I understand it if he retires we could get some of his bonus back. If the Chiefs cut him he keeps it all.

Thanks.

If we keep him on the team one more year, we lose that money anyways, right?

Cut the guy and move on. We're in prime position to have major $$$ at our disposal for future seasons.

I guess it would depend on the terms of his restructured contract. I ought to see if I can't find them someplace.

pikesome 05-01-2007 09:32 PM

I found this about Holmes restructure:

Quote:

Holmes' contract expires after the 2009 season. He restructured the pact in March 2006 to give the club salary cap relief, lowering his base salary from $3.75 million to $710,000. He's scheduled to earn $870,000 in 2007.

Looks like the 2008 or 2009 seasons are back-loaded.
