Well James Reed is about 30 so if he took James Reed's spot on the roster we wouldn't be getting any older.

We should bring him in for a look. What does it hurt? And I would take him over screwhead Tank Johnson.

James Reed does not suck. I think maybe you suck, but not James Reed.

James Reed is a boarderline rotation player at best.

What's the harm? Simon isn't a cancer.

The dude got his big contract and now he doesn't care.

That's the harm.

Some people are motivated to earn that big contract and some people aren't...I have a feeling Simon's days in the NFL are very limited.

James Reed and Ron Edwards are both at best rotational players....the DT issue isn't even close to fixed.

Edwards has a history of being injury prone so counting on him 2 years in a row is risky.

Simon was the 6th pick in the draft. He made a TON of money before his big pay day.

Some of you act like we have Pat Williams, Kevin Williams and Warren Sapp in his glory days in a rotation.

Have you looked at the shit we have at DT?

There's no harm in bringing in a guy on a minimum contract.

None.

The problem would be that he wouldn't play for the minimum. And if he can't pass the physical what good would it do to bring him in?
Pass.
But I bet Denver's all over it. :)

The rooks aren't "shit". They aren't anything yet.

Which is better than Simon, an overpaid, overweight has-been.

You're right.

It would be the worst thing ever to give him a minimum contract to see if he has anything in the tank.

We have so much defensive line talent, we can just roll with 3 DTs who have been rotation guys their entire career and a rookie who is getting dominated in camp.

There is zero harm in bringing someone in for a look to see how they are. The Chiefs aren't giving him a 10 million signing bonus.

Right now, the word is he can't even pass a physical, so it's a moot point.

htismaqe 08-04-2007 02:38 PM

And yes, there is harm in it.

Any down he plays instead of one of the rookies would be wasted.

Simeon Rice couldn't pass a Bucs physical, but passes a Giants one.

I think if a team wants a player off the team, that's a perfect way to get him off - by failing the physical.

Eleazar 08-04-2007 02:44 PM

When was the last down he played in the NFL, 2005?

We need to get younger, not older.
