Make it a 1st next year and let's get it done with.

Minnesota has two 3rd round draft picks this year - #73 and #82.
I'm sure the next sticking point will be which 3rd round pick they are offering. |
Its good, but JA just got to Tampa and they already threw in another pick. I'd sit tight.

They won't get a #1 and #2 this year. No team is going to do that on top of committing $25-$30 million to JA that they can't get back.
The Vikes 1st and their first 3rd rounder this year and 2nd in 2009 is probably the best deal they will get for JA. |

Their #17 pick and their 1st 3rd round pick (#73) are combined 1175pts. Add a mid-round 2nd from next year (equivalent to a mid-round 3rd this year) and you get another 195 which gives a total of 1370. |
sign right now...I want that....please Carl

I wouldn't mind throwing them a mid-rounder if it means one of those picks gets upgraded, though. Like... They get Jared Allen and a 5th, we get a 2008 1st and 2nd, and a 2009 2nd. I don't know the math behind it, but I'd like it. |
I would take the deal in a heartbeat if Carl and Herm weren't running this team
|
a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for a player is a good deal...3 picks is a good deal...take it
|
I'd take it.
Even though the contract in place is cheap....I don't think that Allen will sign with us. He wants to leave.....take the picks and let him go. |

when have we ever been in a situation where teams are bidding against each other for something we have? this is good |

What if the Chiefs drafted Chris Long this year, then used that extra 1st, 2nd and 3rd to draft: A franchise left tackle A complementary starting wide receiver A stud offensive guard Sure, it's optimistic...but it could happen! Jared Allen could be our Jesus Christ! His sacrifice could forgive the sins of Carl's past 19 years! |
