Nelly should be higher on the list as well as Chingy. Will Smith does not deserve to be on that list and neither does 2 Live Crew

Seriously, I recognize that there are differences between them, and that some are better to listen to than others. I honestly think that rappers are really just poets rather than musicians, though. Look at beat poets from the 1960s and rappers are clearly closer to them than they are to singing groups.

I've got no major problem with rap, but it's not music, it's poetry.

I can't hate on Soulja Boy.

Two years ago I see him on Youtube dancing at his mom's house, then a year later I'm listening to his first bootleg release, then I hear he gets signed, next thing you know stadiums around the world are playing his music and athletes are dancing to his song after touchdowns.

His music is shit, but if cats can make millions of dollars rapping about making millions selling crack, I can't be mad that some teenager is having fun and saying "SUPERMAN THAT HOE" over snap beats.

add also: MIMS, ying yang twins, and dem franchize boyz

these guys are a disgrace to hip-hop
